Nearly black with a red tint. Has a great head that lasts till the bottom, great lacing all the way down too. Aroma dominated by malt notes such as toffee and caramel. Some slight dark fruits and something which resembles soy sauce on the nose too. The flavour is also dominated by dark malts and some fruits. There were only very slight hops notes in the finish but there was also some spice. Very rich and thick in the mouth. alcohol was detectable but pleasant.

Aroma is rich and malty with a sweet but not cloying undertone rather like cinnamon rolls. It pours a very appetizing semi-translucent mahogany with a fairly thick and somewhat persistent pale tan head. Aroma is malty with just a bit of hop bitterness and a hint of spice, mainly cinnamon, plus just a touch of fruit. Texture is tingly, fizzy and lively, downright lip-smacking.

Such a nice aroma of malt, deep caramel, and biscuit. FLavour is full bodied, and rich. Loads of caramel malt, and bready malt. Wicked doppelbock, one of the best in the genre.

Draft at Paradiso. I could have drank this for hours. Faint aroma of sweet chocolate, and a nuttiness. The flavor is where this one got me. Touches of toffee and lots of fruits, raisins, plums, vanilla, and caramel. Something about this one really got me.

This is a magnificent and complex brew. Appearance: Pours a mahogany brown with reddish hues. Light tan head. Smell: I instantly thought of chocolate and caramel, but quickly aromas of brown sugar, molasses, plumbs, rum raisins and soggy rum bread, toffee, and more filled the nose. Taste: Big malts create a perfect foundation for dozens of additional flavors. Dark caramel, rum, dark fruits (raisins and plumbs dates), loads of cookie dough and bready flavors; subtle suggestion of toffee and nuts and a hint of German Hops. The dominate sweet character is offset by a gentle bitterness in the finish. Mouthfeel: This beer is big and silky smooth. The velvety malt is oily slick and slides through the palate like a heavenly creamy silk. Drinkability: Who could make a Double Bock so drinkable? Never doubt Weihenstephaner. This beer is terrific and goes down with dangerous ease. Hope this is helpful. Cheers!

Pours a clouded ruby brown with basically no head that falls fast. Nose is malty and sweet smelling. Flavor is rich with a caramel character and a thick body of ingredients. Feel is smooth with a nice bubble on the tongue and a thicker liquid feel that is slightly silky. Definitely drinkable. Easily sessionable. Damn good.

Bottle. Dark brown with garnet highlights when held to the light. Small off-white head with some lacing of glass. strong aroma of roasted malt. Good, almost smokey flavor of malt and raisin that does a good job of hiding the alcohol. An excellent doppelbock.
