Kind of enjoyed this one...the sourness was a bit refreshing. 10 karat brew with a nice 1/2 inch ivory head. Lots of lemongrass, yeast, and citrus both in aroma and flavor. Medium mouthfeel with ample carbonation. Good beer.

Bottle. To not belabor the review - this looks, smells and tastes like a dumbed-down version of their Hefe (which I guess, is kind of what it is). Aroma and flavor both have nice faint notes of classic hefe yeast, banana and clove, but they just linger in the background and the overall effect is a fairly thin, lightly flavored brew. It’s certainly drinkable - but not overly flavorful.

24th May 2008. 15 months past BBE date. A pale beer. Clean light malty tones with a subtle touch of sour caraway. Subtle banana tone. Crisp and dry.

i really like this wheat. pours bright yellow with large white head. aroma is very fruity and extremely similar to juicy fruit gum. drinks the same and makes me think im eating juicy fruit. extremely tasty and crisp. almost chuggable.

bottle. Clear golden yellow, large white head. Very intensive aroma of banana and bubblegum. Rather light-bodied for the strength. Shy malty background with fruity banana flavours and shy hints of bubblegum. Shy finish with a small amount of hoppy bitterness.

Bottle. Clear pale gold with good white head that disappeared quickly. Nice interesting estery aroma. Wonderfoull mouthfeel with medium body and frothy fine carbonation. An initial lightly grainy falvour gives way to bananas and citrus notes with a long finish of very mild hoppy bitterness. A nice weissbier.

From bottle, LA Beerfest. Pour is perfectly gold, with light elegant carbonation. Aroma is faintly banana, wheat, and mild herbal hops. Flavor is much the same, a light, banana-y, thin Hefeweizen. It’s like if you take Weihen’s original Hefe, through it through a filter to extract much of the body and flavor from the beer. The result is simple, much less flavorful, and ultimately quite boring.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a Weizen glass. There is no freshness date on the label but there is a bottle number 0079 on the back label. Appearance: The body has a clear golden color with lots of beautiful carbonation steaming up to the surface. The pour produced a very tall, aggressive and tight foamy head. It has a bright white color with great retention and lacing. Smell: Its nose is full of fruity yeast with notes of banana and clove. There are notes of pale beady wheat as well and just a touch of citrus. Taste/Palate: The flavor is very bright and fresh with plenty of fruity yeast. There are notes of banana, clove and a slight hint of citrus fade into dry crisp wheat malt notes. The finish is very crisp and snappy with some wheat tang and citrus quickly leaving the tongue. The body has a solid medium feel with cleansing active carbonation. Notes: This was my first Kristalweizen and I was very impressed with the bright clean flavor and good solid yeast flavor. There was much more yeast character than I was expecting in this crystal clear German wheat beer.
