Commercial Description:
The source of its pearling, effervescent taste is the secret fermentation process which we have developed especially for our crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer. With its elegant appearance, it is the speciality of our brewery. Goes well with fish, seafood and light dishes.

Wow, pleasantly refreshing. Pours all foam. Settles down to light golden in color with a 3/4 inch head. Smells like sweet wheat malt but light. Taste is full and much stronger than the translucent appearance would let on. Flavor is of full bodied wheat, slight citrus and banana, bubblegum. Flavor is a bit sweet, (sugar?) Texture is carbonated at first, fizzy, and subsides rapidly. A surprisingly good beer, would go great with sausage and kraut.

Bottle. Clear yellow colour with a beautifull mostly lasting white head. Powerfull aroma of grain, lime peel and a touch of banana. Flavor likewise. Almost sparkling on the palate. Pretty lasting finish. This is the perfect summer-beer.

Thanks to dchmela for helping Eric and I to get this style. Pours a amazingly clear gold with a nice white head. The aroma is pretty light; some apple and citrus. The taste is like a good champagne, fizzy and dry, with citrus and apple elements with a really dry finish. Not bad at all. I enjoyed its unique qualities.

Bottle from and shared with Douglass88. Light golden, clear with a dash of almost white foamy head. Tastes like a sparkling pear water with a "touch" of grain.

A careful pour produces a frothy, initially four-finger thick, pale tan colored head. The beer is brilliantly clear, with lots of carbonation bubbles streaming through a bright, yellow gold colored beer. The aroma has the characteristic notes of clove, a touch of banana, a hint of spiciness, some dusty crushed malt aromatics and soft bread-like notes. It seems to be missing a tart wheat component to it and leaves me wondering if this is enhanced by suspended yeast in the traditional Weizen mit Hefe. As a substitute though there is a spicy note that I don’t usually get, really it is a black pepper note that is both slightly woody as well as spicy.

Sweet tasting and well carbonated, the beer foams up as it hits my tongue. Smooth flavors of clove, a touch of banana up front, noticeable sweet (almost honey-like) grain, touches of peach. The carbonation combines with other notes to produce a peppery finish to the beer; in the near finish it competes with the sweet grain and clove notes, but in the long finish it becomes much more noticeable. As the carbonation subsides the feel of this beer becomes much more creamy; it is still quite easy drinking and most definitely quite quaffable.

The Hefe definitely adds some complexity (whether you pour in the sediment or not), but this is a pretty nice beer. I definitely like that the clove and some of the banana flavors are easily noticed and I find that that interesting pepper-like note adds a bit of intrigue to what might have been only a decent Weissbier.

bottle: pours a very clean very light golden hay colour with a extremely white soapy head. aroma is a slight toasted grain, some wheat, slove, banana, and apple. flaovur is clean bitter to start with small amounts of clove, wheat, banana. finishes very dry and a slight acidic. very carbonated and slight aftertaste.

Apr. 2007 - Okay, I have to admit that this beer was mistreated (accidentally frozen, then thawed in warm water to too warm temperatures). Beer pours yellow, crystal clear with nice two finger head. Strong fruity aroma with wheat. Light wheat flavor, ripe fruits, bubblegum, lemon. Very sweet. Okay, but not the best offering from one of my favorite German brewers.
