Commercial Description:
The source of its pearling, effervescent taste is the secret fermentation process which we have developed especially for our crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer. With its elegant appearance, it is the speciality of our brewery. Goes well with fish, seafood and light dishes.

Presentation: It was poured from a brown 500ml bottle into a Weizen glass. There is no freshness date on the label but there is a bottle number 0079 on the back label. Appearance: The body has a clear golden color with lots of beautiful carbonation steaming up to the surface. The pour produced a very tall, aggressive and tight foamy head. It has a bright white color with great retention and lacing. Smell: Its nose is full of fruity yeast with notes of banana and clove. There are notes of pale beady wheat as well and just a touch of citrus. Taste/Palate: The flavor is very bright and fresh with plenty of fruity yeast. There are notes of banana, clove and a slight hint of citrus fade into dry crisp wheat malt notes. The finish is very crisp and snappy with some wheat tang and citrus quickly leaving the tongue. The body has a solid medium feel with cleansing active carbonation. Notes: This was my first Kristalweizen and I was very impressed with the bright clean flavor and good solid yeast flavor. There was much more yeast character than I was expecting in this crystal clear German wheat beer.

500ml bottle served in a weiss glass. Crystal clear golden pour with a thick head of creamy off-white foam that slowly settled. Very nice lacing. The aroma had fresh banana, bubblegum, and bready yeast. The flavor consisted of light wheat and banana. Minimal yeast spiciness. The mouthfeel was slightly sharp and crisp. Moderate carbonation. Decent, but this was pretty mild on the yeast esters for my tastes.

Clear semi hazy golden yellow color with a small head. Aroma has some sweetness, yeast, fruit, banana, and faint spice. Nice carbonation. Flavor is bright, crisp, spice and yeast with some fruit. Nice body.

50cl bottle into signature weizen glass. Pours clear bright yellow with a thick collar of foamy white head that mostly persists. Nose of bread, bananas, lemon citrus and soft spicy hops. Palate is medium bodied with a lively mouthfeel and a crisp refreshing sweetish finish. Smooth and easily drinkable. Probably the definitive Bavarian filtered wheat beer but this is not a style I am particularly fond of. I would suggest sticking to this brewery’s Hefeweizens which have a thicker almost chewy palate and more complex yeasty flavours.

Bottle from the Village Bottle Shop. The aroma has fruit and spice. Pours light gold with a thin, fluffy white head. Light, slightly creamy palate. The flavor has more fruit, spice, citrus, bread and light warming alcohol. Not very much hop flavor here. This is a nice, enjoyable beer that is better than most wheat beers I’ve tried.

Pours a light clear yellow with a slight fizzy white head. Aromas of light banana, caramel, slight skunk, and spices. The flavor kinda resembles bubble gum all in all. But on a more serious note, you got bananas, spice(ginger), some yeast(even though its clear as pee), and just a touch of caramel. It’s one of those beers that would be perfect in a keg for a wedding or party to have a tasty beer and just as refreshing.

A very clear golden beer with a massive white head. There is a lot of carbonation activity with some bubbles moving slow & some fast, & this beer does look real good. The aroma has some straw, & cereal like qualities. The taste is a little watery at first that leads to a slightly creamy finish that has some hints of banana. This is a very refreshing thirst quencher, & will get this next summer.

Bottle from Grapes of Mirth. Clear yellow/gold pour with a medium white head. Banana yeast aroma that is somewhat subdued by crisp hops and malt. Corny and grainy malt flavor with some banana yeast and a crisp finish. Finish gets a little more peppery as the beer warms. Don’t love it, but as my first example of this style I think I like it better than the typical hefeweizen.
