Commercial Description:
The source of its pearling, effervescent taste is the secret fermentation process which we have developed especially for our crystal wheat beer. It quenches your thirst like no other beer. With its elegant appearance, it is the speciality of our brewery. Goes well with fish, seafood and light dishes.

Nice golden straw color with pure white head. Aromas of wheat, banana, and sweet corn. The flavor is light and crisp, yet with enough body to be satisfying with wheat, banana, and a touch of sweet malt at the end. A very nice effervescent clear brew that would be great at on a hot summer day.

Bottle. Pours clear golden with nice streams of bubbles, and a large fluffy white head. Aroma is wheat, yeast, bubble gum, and a little banana, finishing quite dry. Flavor is light wheat, bubble gum, a hint of lemon, and a bit of banana. Kind of a lighter and more effervescent version of their Hefe Weissbier. Very nice on a summer day, and the plentiful carbonation manages to be champagne-like rather than soft-drink-like, so isn’t overbearing. Recommended, and a step above most refreshing summer beers.

Rated 1/1/06: Picked a bottle of this up during a visit to my fovorite beer store. Had no idea what to expect especially since I am not familiar with kristall weissbiers. I was able to conclude that it was German weisbeer. The appearance was fantastic, very light golden in color with plenty of carbonation. The bubbles seem to be infinite. After a couple of glass fulls I was still confused as to the unique ingredient. It wasn’t until I began to read the reviews that I learned that banana seems to be the main influence here. Interesting to say the least it is an extremely unique beer. So far I can take it or leave it. Of course it is the middle of winter in Ohio so perhaps I will re-visit this one when it is at least 70 degrees outside and I can sit out on my deck and feel refreshed.

Bottle. Pours yellow and clear. Aromas of cloves and dough with some bananas. Light body, quite refreshing with tastes of yeast, citrus and cloves and a hint of bubbelgum. A good summer beer.

Pours a clear golden with a huge white head. Aromas of bread dough and bananas. Yeast and a slight malt flavor finish dry and refreshing.

Bottle. Served in a weizen glass. The beer pours a gold-tinted yellow color, with a two finger white head, and vigorous carbonation. Clarity is very high. Fizzy, yellow? may fool the BMC drinkers, that is until they smell it. The aroma is very yeasty, spicy, and wheaty. There also seems to be a bit of a skunkiness. Flavor is wheat, yeast, and mild esters. Mild tartness. Full mouthfeel, probably due in large part to the high level of carbonation. I am not sure if it is the fact that it is a kristalweizen, getting old, or just a poor example of style, but the traditional hefe yeast character is just not present, almost seems like an AmWheat.

Pours golden and clear, as it should. Huge puffy head that goes away fairly quickly, but sadly leaves minimal lacing down the cglass. Aroma is estery and yeasty, with some banana and clove. Flavor is sweet, and prickly on the tongue. Not as good as there unfiltered hefeweizen, but you gotta respect stuff from the oldest brewery in the world.

Feint bananas and citrus on the nose. Clear blonde with a thick white head. Dry citrus and banana, its missing flavor, must be the missing yeast! Carbonated like a good german wheat. I like my yeast.
