Appearance: Pours a clear, bright yellow body beneath a monstrously huge head.
Smell: Sweetish malted wheat aroma with supporting, though somewhat restrained notes of clove, citrus, and banana smoothies.
Taste: Slightly tangy, somewhat sweet wheat malt flavor. Subtle flavors of bananas, clove (though this ramps up upon warming), and sweetened lemon juice. Very low bitterness. Ultimately finishes sweetish with a lingering clove spiciness.
Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation.
Drinkability: A fine, refreshing kristal.

Jul 22, 2008 Bottle. Pourd a hazy golden yellow (mine was not crystal clear) with a big fluffy white head. Aromas of bananas and wheat. Exceptionally crisp and clean. Just great tasting beer. I cant wait to have another.

Jul 17, 2008 Fantastic beer - I am a big fan of the regular Weihenstephaner Weissbier, and was very curious to try the Kristall version. I was extermely impressed with how much of the robust aroma and taste were preserved in this clear, filtered version. Pours clearr gold with a solid white head that hangs around. The aroma has hints of banana and bubble-gum. The taste follows through with the same flavors, and the finish is nice and long. Overall a great beer!

Jul 17, 2008 On tap at Papago Brewery. Poured blonde with a trim bit of white foam. Plenty of wheat, citrus, and cream (perhaps even a little peppermint), but unfortunately this just wasn’t an enjoyable combination on my palate.

Jul 16, 2008 Bottled. Pours honey with a big fluffy white head. Aroma is malty, fruits ( ban, orange, slight lemon) and spice with a tinge of sourness. Flavor is some bread and banana with spices. Body is well malted for the style and for most styles for that matter. Smooth and malty with some nice lighter fruit flavors and bread.

Jul 15, 2008 Weihenstephaner Kristall Weissbier is a crystal clear, very sparkling, light golden beer with a huge fluffy white head that has excellent retention and leaves excellent lacing. The aroma is of light grain, melon and banana bread. It is medium bodied, smooth and soft with a clean, wet finish. There are flavors of lemon, banana, muffins and nuts. It would make an excellent brunch beer!
