Apr 10, 2008 This poured a light yellow color with beautiful fluffy head that lingered forever. Aroma was sweet malt. Taste was malty and also of grain. Was balanced a nice hops presence. The mouthfeel and carbonation were perfect.. The drinkability of this one is at the top of the scale. A nice sessionable lager. Not complex and not meant to be.

Apr 6, 2008 Pours a light golden color with an inch of fizzy head. Coriander, spice, banana and clove smells. Fizzy and uneventful flavor with a mild finish.

Apr 5, 2008 Some skunky spice on the nose. Lemon yellow, medium head. Mild malty sweetness, somewhat off-balanced with the bitterness. Highly carbonated, grassy, not a crisp clean finish. Decent beer, but not one of the better Helles beers out there.

Mar 28, 2008 12oz bottle. Pours a very light straw color, completely transparent with a small but fluffy and nice looking white head. Pretty good lacing. Typical Pilsner like aroma. Malty, bready, clean, cereal. Taste is quite light, smooth, clean, quite light bodied with a short finish with just a little bit of cereal grain on the tongue. This is a decent example of the style but there are better out there. This certainly seems more like a Pilsner than a Dortmunder, but what do I know.

Mar 26, 2008 Bottle pours a slightly hazy golden yellow with a foamy white head. Light, sweet aroma that includes lemon. Sweet flavor as well with just a touch of bitterness along with hints of lemon. Crisp and clean.

Mar 13, 2008 Updated: Apr 27, 2009[rated 3.13.08] Pours slightly couldy light golden with a nice frothy white head. Great grassy and bready aroma, really crisp and stingy. Wonderful hellas! Maybe a tad sweet but this stuff is excellent. This is my favorite from Weihenstephaner. Very nice light doughiness that compliments the clean fruity hops perfectly. Really drinkable smoothly carbonated body. Bring on spring. Forget the Hefe... this is their best (besides 1809). This is exactly what a hellas should be. 7.4.9.5.17
[Rerate 4.27.09] Pours a clear light golden with large fluffy super white tall foamy head with soapy lacing. Strong grassy aroma, a bit sweet, quite bready, fresh milled malt. Great bready flavor, lightly funky fruity noble hops, fairly sweet cereal. Very easy drinking, not quite as clean as I remember but perhaps this isn’t the freshest bottle. Great mouthful, medium bodied with smooth sparse crisp carbonation.
