Weihenstephaner Original Bayrisch Mild

12 oz bottle-poured a very light yellow color w/a moderate white, foamy head. Had a lot of carbonation. Color kind of scared me as it was so light I didn’t see how it could have any flavor, but it wasn’t as week as it looked. Had a little bit of an initial hop bite to it, traces of grass & wheat. Had a long, dry, bitter finish. Easy drinking session brew.

12 oz. Pale yellow, with a medium head that settles into a lasting ring. Honey, dry cereal, and grass in the aroma. Flavor is a nice mixture of the same. Light-medium body is fairly smooth and has a dry finish.

when a fresh bottle is just opened, there is a presence of skunk. However...aftering breathing for a minute it has some grassy notes, like a feild. The mouthfeel is a bit oily

Aug. 2006 - I’m not getting the hate at ALL! These guys don’t make a bad beer, yo. Poured crystal clear, nice head. Light grassy aroma. Sweet malty backbone with a crisp hop bite on the back end. Very drinkable and enjoyable, I don’t know what you fools are talking ’bout!

Upon opening it seems I might have gotten an old bottle, smells a little skunky, I generally love this beer though so we’ll see. Pours a very very slightly hazy golden straw color, with a small head. Later on it leaves a little lace. Smell is still a little skunky but not as bad as it was when I opened the bottle. There isn’t much of a strong aroma coming from this brew. Taste confirms that this bottle is indeed a bit old. However it retains a lot of flavors, it’s still very nice. Very crisp, light hop flavor. This is generally speaking one of my all-time favorites in the Bavarian lager category, this bottle not so great, I’ll have to re-rate when I can get it on tap.

Don’t get me wrong this beer is everything a Bavarian beer should taste like crisp and clean with a pale gold color beautiful lacing and a foamy white head, but having tried some of their other flavors this didn’t wow me, it is as stated mild.

Clear gold with a a small white head. The aroma is sweet and fruity. Firm body and quite a lot of carbbonation. Predominantly sweet flavour, with some very restrained balancing hoppiness. Ok

Vom Fass at Müncen Airport 29 Jun 07. Bright golden. A small creamy head. Weak perfumed hoppy aroma. Sparkling mouthfeel. Grassy flavor. Sweet hoppy aftertaste.
