Commercial Description:
A good beer takes time. The long lager time makes our pale beer a matter of mild, flavourful beer enjoyment. Brewed in accordance with a centuries-old beer tradition on Weihenstephan Hill.

Pours a clear gold. Light white head, aromas of citrus and lght wheat. Tastes stronger towards the lght roasted whaet flavors. Very light on the tongue, and just a slight bitterness on the sides of the tongue. Very pleasant, boquet gets better as the beer warms in the glass. Slight malt which was confusing my roasted wheat assumption. I’ve got the Hefe in the fridge for the next round.(Bottle Pour 6/20/2006)

Poured a clear yellow. Aroma was pepper and lagering yeast. Flavor was quite mild and good for a german lager...spicey and a bit bitter. Mouthfeel was very drying.

I wish I could have drank this on better terms, but we were forced to drink this because my friend accidently grabbed this one and not the hefeweizen. This is a very typical european lager. It is flavorful, very malty and quite bitter. i don’t know why you’d buy this when the Weihenstephaner Hefeweizen is available.

Sampled at Broudy’s Beerfest, Jacksonville, FL, 3 June 2006. An OK German lager. Typical lager flavor, drinkable but not great. Many notches below their weissbeer in quality and enjoyment.

Enjoyed their weissbeer, but this one wasn’t so good. It tasted like Warsteiner with a grassy aroma and aftertaste. Cloudy yellow appearance with some citrus detectable. No head and lacing gone by the second sip. Since this is from the world’s oldest brewery, it’s possible that my bottle was from 1040. Label read "Original Lager."
