Aroma is very nice exhibiting qualities not often found in a lager. The aroma is grainy, but it is obvious that this has spent time in the tank "lagering" which is something many in this style are mising. Flavor is clean and subtle with light notes of grain and light bitterness. Very enjoyable to drink and nicely refreshing. shadey (1500), Rochester, New York, USA
| 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 3/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 23, 2004 Golden colored pour with a thick white head. Smelled skunky with a little bit of hops. Falvor wasn’t as bad as the smell. It was crips, without a whole lots of strong flavors. realmazz (5), Riverview, Michigan, USA does not count | 2.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 2/10 | 4/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 9/20 | May 21, 2004 Maybe I bought a bad bottle. Skunky, I could smell it as soon as I opened it. Tasted better than it smelled. heemer77 (4304), Savannah, Missouri, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 17, 2004 Bottle. Has a small white head and is a deep gold with a lot of sediment. Light aroma of grass and lemons. The taste is almost sickly sweet at first, like pineapple. Also, there are some malty notes rpesent. A bite later on with the carbonation. This is drinkable, but not great. willblake (2177), Belcamp, Maryland, USA

Aromas are nice, though light hints of pale malts and honey. Not much body, nor complexity. This is, however, a nice alternative to bigger beers. Yep, mostly malts and honey are what I’m tasting. Finishes somewhat sour...huh. DerBiermeister (516), Birmingham, Alabama, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 3/5 | 4/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 7, 2004 The aroma here is so mild as to elude immediate noticeability. The appearance is an orangish blonde (more blonde). The flavour is light and somewhat shy, malty and somewhat bready. This tastes like a German light beer. And I didn’t know the Germans *did* light beers - somewhat disappointing. beermatrix (1497), Twin Cities, Minnesota, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 23, 2004 Brightly clear, light golden dulled yellow color with a thin white frothed cap that faded off quickly. Smell has a nice crisp and clean herbal essence with a soft, fresh bread roll dough. Quite nice, a firm crispness and sweet doughy breading for its nose, which really comes together as it warms. Taste is a nice crisp and clean hop, some dried herbal variants float around that are light and airy with a nice and firm bread dough sweetish malt backing. Totally reminds me of the dough used for white bread rolls or cresent rolls. Feel is a bit lighter on the body but the super clean, super crispness makes up for the lack there of. Kinda sweet and very smooth, quick crispness at first with a lightly dry breadish souring finish thats nice. A pretty darn good Helles thats easy, clean, crisp, and drinkably good. Yum. | 2.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 10/20 | Apr 19, 2004 Pours transparent gold, with a large, quickly diminishing head. A good lager flavor, dominated by malts. Much better than your typical lagers, but don't expect a lot of flavor here. Smooth and drinkable.
