May 31, 2006 Clear brown, with smooth head. Nice maltiness in the nose. Mouthfeel is good. Slighty roasted sweetness to taste.

May 30, 2006 Woody-amber, thick creamy top. Handsome lager. Aroma: fruity, malty nose, grainy with very light smoky character. Good dunkel.

May 20, 2006 When poured it displays a slightly off-white head over a deep red/brown beer.
Excellent malt aromas displaying molasses, rye, spices (cardamom?) wood smoke and earthy/dirty tones.
Initially sweet on the palate with more grainy, rye malt characters with the uncomplicated dusty/dry-grassy bitterness developing mid-palate. Some sourness and astringency follows to balance the sweetness and leave the palate revived. Quite a substantial mouth feel yet not overwhelming with fine carbonation for balance.
Long lingering aftertastes of malt sweetness and alcohol give a warm pleasant finish.

Feb 28, 2006 Bottled. Reddish-brown beer with an ok beige head. Nice carbonation. Sweet malty and roasted aroma with some beef stock. Flavor is light, sweet malty and roasted. Sweet, medium body. The beer feels too thin, but is pleasant anyway. (060224)
