Commercial Description:
The name tells the story: our dark beer is brewed according to a tradition handed down from generation to generation. An aromatic beer with a malty character. An archetypal Bavarian beer.

Dark copper with fizzy, off-white head. Rye bready nose, roasted malts, little coffee and cocoa. Flavor is rusty malts, sweetish rye bread, little hop bitterness. Medium bodied, average carbonation. An OK dunkel, not that exciting.

Nice copper brown colour with a disappearing off-white head. Strong malty grain and bread aroma, with maybe just a hint of German hops. Intense and clean malty flavour medium dry and filled with toasted munich character.

500ml bottle, pours deep ruby with a quickly diminshing white head. Aroma of sweet roasted malt and floral hops. Smooth on the palet, with no lingering bitterness. Well rounded flavour.

50 cL bottle. Pours dark brown with a distinct redish glare and a lacing off-white head. Roasted malt and fruity aroma. Flavour is roasted and with a light mouldy touch towards a distinct fruity note. Sweet caramel malt base with a nice roasted note on top. Goes into a roasted acidic and mild bitter finish.

50cl bottle: Pours dark brown with a creamy white lasting head. Aroma is sooo classic dunkel-like. Lots of caramel/toffee & breadish. Light roasted with hints of sugar. Medium bodied - good mouthfeel. Extremely drinkable dunkel.

Bottle 50 cl. Pours a dark brown with a small head and a malty aroma. The taste is a bit sourish, with malts, dark chocolate (only the bitterness, not the sweetness) and some not-that-sweet fruits. This isn’t a bad beer, but weihenstephaner can do much better
