| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Aug 10, 2003 Crystal clear brown-red colour with nice head and lacing down the glass. This beer is malt, malt, malt. The flavours really open up as the beer warms, with the dark, decocted malt flavour dominating. Hops are barely present. This is a delicious beer, and would almost be the perfect session beer. What lets it down in terms of a rating is that it is one-dimensional. Admittedly, that dimension is fantastic but this isn't the most challenging beer. mazfln (84), Florianópolis, Brazil, Brazil

Mild malty aroma, a little bit sweet. Taste is strong malt, a little roastness, and bitter-sweet. Resiny mouthfeel. There’s a little acidity in the aftertaste that makes it very refreshing.
A well balanced dunkel.
Very good! So bad it is expensive here in Brazil... :(
Re-rating: it is a wonderful beer. I’m loving it more and more... joss (3679), Garching b. München, Germany

Coloração vinho escuro; espuma densa e presente, coloração ambar. Cheiro gostoso, frutado e adocicado. Ceveja encorpada. Grãos torrados no sabor na medida certa. Levemente adocicada (caramelo) Retrogosto amargo. Melhor que a de trigo. Cerveja de baixa fermentação. Malts and fruit in aroma, some notes of port-wine. Sweet malty flavour with some notes one normally finds in aged trappist ales, i’m not sure how to describe it though. Very nice balance, lasting finish. Good beer. spydog (74), Tempe, USA
