Commercial Description:
A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

Pours hazy gold with a puffy, rocky white head. Excellent lacing down the glass. Sugary wheat aroma, lots of banana and bread in this one. Fresh-smelling, nice change from the dank basement you sometimes get with the weizenbock. Bubbly mouthfeel, although it does get syrpuy from time to time. The taste was good, but a little too sweet for me. Solid wheat and banana/yeast ester base. Loved the clove and lemon peel components as well. Only problem I had was it was a little too sweet. Kind of got a cotton candy-sugar taste after a while, to the point I craved an IPA or something sour to wash this beer down with. At first I wanted to mark this beer down for it in the taste category, but everything that came before it was too good

Pours a murky yellow gold into the glass with a small white head and lots of hissing carbonation. Aroma is slightly banana and allspice with a little citrus to it. Flavor is some bready malt with yeast dominating the profile. Mouthfeel is superb. Almost a Belgian, champagne-like mouthfeel that expands with carbonation in your mouth. This stands out to me as the best German beer Ive ever had.

Strange label. Orange colour with a decent head. Fruity esters on the nose and lots of alcohol. A little metallic in the end.

50cl bottle. Finally, Vitus appears at the local bottle shop. Having seen this beer pimped a ridiculous amount over on BA, I was intrigued. Well, a thicker sweeter Weinstephaner Hef, thats about the extent of it. Hazy yellow-orange with a big, frothy head. Banana, lemon, and bready aroma. Sweet flavor with banana and a bit of spice. Medium-full body cut nicely by ample, effervescent carbonation. Chewy. Well made; I never doubted that, but I would take their regular weissebier any day. This tastes almost the same, but is just a bit unbalanced on the sweet, nearly cloying side.

Poured a hazy yellow with a tint of brown and a large off-white head. Cloves and yeast aroma with some sweet wheat malt for the base. The flavor has a big clove and phenol flavor that over powers the malt. Spicy finish with a light to medium body.

[Bottle] Pours hazy orange with a big white head. Banana is there in the aroma, but more subdued than expected. Some buttery notes were a little offputting when cold, but they disappeared as it warmed and were replaced by some light smokiness that was much more appealing. Taste is banana and clove (as expected, with the banana coming out more as it warmed), but something was lacking...I think that it needed more spices, and the wheat twang was not as prominent as with some weizens. Good mouthfeel with a slightly above average finish. Overall a good weizen bock, but by no means a great one, and really does nothing to set itself apart. Probably a beer that would be better very fresh--would love to try it in Deutschland.

500 ml bottle. Cloudy yellow color, white head. Fruity aroma. Sweet fruity flavor with citric and spicy notes. High carbonation, medium body. A pleasant wheat beer.
