Smell and taste are huge in bubble gum with notes of wheat, banana, and lemon. Not really a huge fan of this one but it is very drinkable. Too much bubble gum flavor in my opinion. drpimento (828), La Crosse, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Nov 2, 2009 served a mug with a small to medium head and no lace. Aroma is heavy traditional Bavarian Weizen - pungent, sweet-sour, fruity, malty, und vundrerbar! Color is a hazy light to medium-light amber. Flavor is prominently a pungent malt with lemony citrus character. Hardly any hop. Finish is like regular flav. One of the richest, most full flavored weizens. Perhaps a session. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Pours a hazy gold with towering white head that fades rapidly after the first sip.
Nose shows lots of banana and wheaty bread, some light sweet malt and a bit of pear. More like a hefe than a weizenbock. Light cloves show later on, along with spices reminiscent of nutmeg and coriander.
Flavour are again more like a hefe. Lots of banana and doughy yeast, the only difference is some soft alcohol and a hint of sweet clean malt.
Medium full body, moderately high carbonation. A little to full on.
I was expecting this to be darker, fruitier, maltier, etc. JanEric (191), Meppel, Netherlands
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Nov 1, 2009 Dark blond of colour, small white head (when poured out in weizenglass). Aroma is ruity, with something like peaches, sweet, but full taste, bitter of the hops. It’s like me like a tripel one, fruity. hoppy dry. Alcohol is not dominating luckily. nickd717 (1348), Palo Alto, California, USA

Pours a bright clear golden color with a medium white head that dissipates. Aroma is wheat, banana, clove, yeast, and spice. Flavor is very nice and fairly sweet with wheat, banana, clove, sugar, light fruits, and spice. Medium-bodied with a crisp mouthfeel and medium-high carbonation. Extremely drinkable. zach8270 (2103), Henrietta, New York, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 27, 2009 (draft @ The Old Toad - Rochester, NY) Golden hazy pour with a fluffy white head. Aroma is sweet and yeasty with a lot of spice and banana. Flavor begins with a very nice banana, clove, and wheat note but then goes to a malty smoothness as opposed to the dry grainy flavor of a regular weizen. Smooth and spicy and rather easy to drink. craftbeerdesign (754), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Oct 24, 2009 on tap at Taco Mac Windward... arrived at the table a cloudy deep golden with a thin white head ... I feel this would have a much bigger head when poured from the bottle... wonderful banana aroma with some lemon and a touch of spice... medium body that is soft and creamy... really delightful over the tongue.... some yeast, spice and wheat... a very drinkable somewhat stronger beer that can really quench your thirst while bringing a lot of flavor to the table. | 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Oct 23, 2009 Bottle: Pours clear gold, big white head and nice lacing. Nose of strong esters and yeasty hefe notes, banana, clove, bread. Flavor is nice, a bit of nutty fruit, bread and some chewy raisin. Nice malty mouthfeel and a yeasty bready body. Seems like a hefe to me, not a bock, maybe a heller bock.... Nice yeastiness. Looking at the description, I guess I always assumed weizenbocks usually came in the doppel format. Nice twist.
