The aroma is very yeasty, there’s banana esters and bubble-gum, there’s also cloves and a soft candy sweetness. The flavor is very pleasant and balanced, there are bananas, bubble gum, cloves and sweetness reminiscent of soft fruity candies. After a while, I notice some hop presence and mild bitterness in the end. The body is medium to full with a creamy texture and medium to lively carbonation. This is a solid weizenbock, I’d say the best Weihenstephaner I’ve had so far. hoooraybeer (48), Cranford, New Jersey, USA

Banana clove and the dry plum bitter. Much more refreshing and light than other weizen bocks. Not nearly the strong plum flavors that you get from Schneidder Aventinus. Great mouth feel - creamy, full, and sparkling. Simple start and very nice spicey finish. Bana na flavors really come out as it warms. Very good Derek881 (502), Frederick, Maryland, USA

The beer had a big foamy white head with great retention and decent cling atop a cloudy straw color with slight particles. The aroma was a mix of banana and some other fruits, with barley, and some yeast and grainy hop tones too. A sweet, somewhat fruity taste, with a touch of wheat and bitterness. Pretty wet beer on the palate, somewhat creamy and maybe slightly on the thin side, with good carbonation. A quality beer, not quite exceptional, but definitely enjoyed. Citrus/herb taste, really special. Very light colour. Had a 0.5l bottle in Rapallo, Italy at a nice grand café. illidurit (896), Santa Cruz, California, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Aug 28, 2008 Pours a hazy saffron color into my Franziskaner weizen glass. Big 3 finger head is pure white, not much lacing. Good retention.
Aroma is lemon meringue, banana oil, flowers, clove, and a hint of copper.
Tastes like an imperialized version of a hefeweizen. Not a lot of dark, chewy, bready malt flavor at all. This beer is focused around banana, lemon, and clove. Also a touch of vanilla. Not bad, but certainly lacking the complexity a darker weizenbock (like Aventinus) would likely provide.
Highly carbonated, but not overly so. Medium body with a sticky banana pith finish. Classic Weihenstephaner drinkability.
