| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Dec 18, 2009 1pt bottle poured into a weizen glass. Cloudy orange with ample creamy white head. Aroma is yeast, bubblegum, spice, banana. Flavor is bubblegum, banana, spice, bread. Medium-bodied, lively carbonation. Medium finish is slightly bitter. This is an odd weizen bock. The dominance of the bubblegum aroma/flavor is more reminiscent of big Belgian beers than a weizen bock. Not a bad beer, just not a great example of the style. Toxygen (190), Sanford, Florida, USA

| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 11/20 | Dec 13, 2009 Hazy golden body, huge, towering head, with the bottle foam still coming out from the bottle even when it is half empty! The usual weizen aromas are there (banana, bubblegum, clover), but everything is overshadowed by a rather unpleasant warm, perfumy, alcoholic note reminding me of cheap strong lagers. Oily on the palate, medium bitterness in the finish. All in all, a disappointment from Weihenstephaner. Will probably re-rate. jimmiec (66), Louisiana, USA

| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Dec 7, 2009 Bottle from coldbrewky. Pours a hazy gold with a nice sized white fizzy head. | 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Dec 1, 2009 16.9oz bottle. Pours golden with a slight amber hue. The off-white head is initially very active and frothy, but gradually fades to a small ring. Aroma of bubblegum, wheat, spice, banana, and slight vanilla. Banana is the initial flavor, which is joined by wheat, spice, caramel, and citrus. Alcohol becomes more evident towards the finish. Finishes sweet and almost syrupy. Thin to medium bodied, with less carbonation than I expected. It’s far from perfect, but still pretty enjoyable.
