Commercial Description:
A light-coloured, spicy single-bock wheat beer, for both beer lovers and the beer connoisseur. Extra long and cold storage in our monastery cellars makes this single-bock a really special beer with full body and a distinctively great mouthfeel. Prost!

Draught pint at Deep Ellum on 10/17/07
Hazy golden-beeswax with an immense, well-retained white head that laces fully.
Tremendously fruity for a weizen bock. Strong peachy-apricot sweetness, with even some succulent mango notes. A very uniform, smooth malt sweetness takes on an aroma of vanilla-cream. Quite sweet, as others mention, but it’s a German strong ale, would you expect it to not be richly malted? Trailing nicely on the end is a dry, highly aromatic, rustic even, hay-like wheat character that takes some of the focus off the sweetness. Alcohol was well enough concealed and no flaws noted. Medium-high strength of aroma.
Half way between chewy and sticky, is the malt body on this, with round, succulent ripe nectarine and apricot fruitiness and a rich honey-tinted vanilla cream sweetness from the wonderfully extracted (but perhaps somewhat underattenuated malts). I’m not going to say too much more about the sweetness, despite my preference for dry beers. Sometimes the beer is just meant to be a sweet dessert sipper, as in this case. It’s not like Weihenstephaner yeast dosent ferment the beer well, if it needs to, and certainly the brewers know enough how to. Obviously intentional is the sweetness, then, and soft and supportive it feels on the palate. Even a little bit of wheat or yeast-like tartness on the finish.... Medium carbonation, with a touch of alcohol warmth and some slight bready dryness. Pineapple-banana-clove lingers lightly.

Only my second Weizenbock and what a superb brew. Very good banana nose with nice unfiltered appearence. The taste is outstanding and does taste like a hyper Hefeweizen. Would definately buy again.

Fresh beer. Hides the high amount of alcohol (for a Weizen) perfectly. Citrus/herb taste, really special. Very light colour. Had a 0.5l bottle in Rapallo, Italy at a nice grand café.

Pours a hazy saffron color into my Franziskaner weizen glass. Big 3 finger head is pure white, not much lacing. Good retention. Aroma is lemon meringue, banana oil, flowers, clove, and a hint of copper. Tastes like an imperialized version of a hefeweizen. Not a lot of dark, chewy, bready malt flavor at all. This beer is focused around banana, lemon, and clove. Also a touch of vanilla. Not bad, but certainly lacking the complexity a darker weizenbock (like Aventinus) would likely provide. Highly carbonated, but not overly so. Medium body with a sticky banana pith finish. Classic Weihenstephaner drinkability.

pale slightly cloudy yellow with a well sized head the fizzes down to a constant one-finger size leaving little to no lace
wheaty aroma with light banana spices and a astringent floral current.
heavy on the banana spices with a trace of hops as well.
really smooth palate.
