Bottle at the monastery in Freising, Germany. Off-white head, very little carbonation, transparent, and some yeast with excellent lacing. Yellow hue. Malty, sweet, banana, spicy and clove aroma. Sweet, malty, spicy, clove and harsh tasting. Lightly tingly mouthfeel. Light bodied beer.

The DM & Hotstuff’s European Honeymoon trip beer number 47. This bottled brew marked best before 26 July 05 from the monastery in Freising Germany poured a larges sized head of finely sized foamy long lasting bubbles that left behind a softly carbonated filtered transparent yellow orange colored body and an excellent clinging spider web lacing along the sides of my mug. The aroma was very mild with malt and hop notes and a touch of yeast. The mouth feel was very nice smooth and malty and the flavor was also malty with dough notes that were not typically like a hefe. The filtering took out most of what makes a hefe good. Over-all, it just was not that good.

Bottled. New at Delirium Cafe. Cloudy brown. Small brown head with a malty and sweet nose along with light brown sugar and wheat. Some banana and faint bubblegum waft through it as well. Taste is malts, wheat, fruit notes and light spice. Mild carbonation feel with a strong spice bite. Finish is sweetened malts with more fruit and bubblegum.

Bottled: Amber coloured. Murky. Huge light beige head. Yeast, berries, fruit, citrus and wheat is caressing your nose. Aromas are very distinct. Flavours is a little more bland. Spices, yeast, citrus and some banana. Is light fruity and dry in the end. This is one hell of a hefe weissbier.

A dark orange beer with a huge white lazing head. The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of banana. The flavor is wheaty with notes of oranges as well as hints of hops on a very dry background. But the body is thin.

Mild wheat beer notes, banana and mild clove. Estery, wheaty. Dark amber hazy with thin off-white head. Medium bodied with medium-high carbonation. Mild wheat beer taste to start, not particularly charismatic. Mild banana ester, light wheat. Light bitter hops. Carbonic burn. Mild dry chalky finish and after. Looks like it’s filtered, but still hazy. No sediment in bottle. 5.4%

Fully hazy amber-yellow beer with olive shine; pink-amber huge head, slowly collapsing. Caramel, lots of banana, bit of nutmeg - and, indeed, a lot of hops - a hopextract, maybe. Banana, nutmeg, bread sour mash for a sourish taint. Finish is more sweet, bananamush-like. No hops in the taste. Rather slick mouthfeel, bit oily, medium bodied. This beer - in itself a middle-of-the-road Hefeweizen - is the living proof what rubbish the Reinheitsgebot really is. Xanthohumol, Hopfenextrakt - but all the same "Gebraut nach dem Bayerischen Reinheitsgebot". B*llocks.
