The aroma is sweet wheaty with notes of banana. The flavor is wheaty with notes of oranges as well as hints of hops on a very dry background. But the body is thin. | 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 5/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 20, 2005 (Bottle 33 cl) I had feared yet another thin and bland designer/yuppie Hefe with more emphasis on bottle design than what’s actually inside. But luckily I was terribly wrong. The special feature about this Hefe is apparently that the Xanthohumol from the hops is preserved (a powerful anti-oxidant, but "scientists believe you have to drink about 120 gallons of beer - or roughly 1,300 12-ounce bottles - every day to reap the benefits"!) Anyways, the beer is dark amber, slightly hazy with a handsome, creamy, tall, off-white head. Fruity banana aroma, with a soft almost cream-like mouthfeel. Short, dry hoppyness in the finish. Quite lovely. 201005

Big, stable white head. The flavour is dominated by clove with a little sweetness and a little underlying yeast. Low, but not totally absent bitterness. joergen (8638), Frederiksberg, Denmark

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Nov 19, 2004 Orange brown color, almost clear. Chalky and flowery aroma. Vinous, somewhat milky, herbal and hoppy flavor. Some banana, but the fruit is not too apparent. Good weizenbier. Emil (6074), Copenhagen, Denmark

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 24, 2006 cloudy very dark orange colour, nice creamy beige head with a beautiful lacing; robust banana aroma with notes of honey, some tartness and a high carbonation; decent malt body; moderately dry finish with more banana notes - really pleasant JorisPPattyn (5193), Antwerpen, Belgium
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Sep 12, 2004 Fully hazy amber-yellow beer with olive shine; pink-amber huge head, slowly collapsing. Caramel, lots of banana, bit of nutmeg - and, indeed, a lot of hops - a hopextract, maybe. Banana, nutmeg, bread sour mash for a sourish taint. Finish is more sweet, bananamush-like. No hops in the taste. Rather slick mouthfeel, bit oily, medium bodied. This beer - in itself a middle-of-the-road Hefeweizen - is the living proof what rubbish the Reinheitsgebot really is. Xanthohumol, Hopfenextrakt - but all the same "Gebraut nach dem Bayerischen Reinheitsgebot". B*llocks.
