On tap at brewery. Didn’t have much expectations for this one . . . contract brewed for a dive bar. HOWEVER, it wasn’t half bad. Pouring clear amber-orange in color and poorly served with no head in a pint glass, this beer still managed a slightly grainy but cirusy-floral hop nose. Flavor started with citrus fruit, slightly harsh in balance, and finishing with firm bitterness. Faint toasted bread in there as well. Generally speaking, this beer exceeded my expectations, coming from someone who can’t get enough of the audacity of west coast IPAs. This one’s worth a shot if you are in the area.

Draft. Rich amber beer with an off-white head. Grapefruit/pine aroma. Grapefruit/pine flavor with an earthy caramel backing. Average bitterness. Caramel lingers with pine/grapefruit hops.

Draught at the brewpub. Hazy pale amber, average head. Powerful grapefruity hop aroma.Medium sweet with rounded mouthfeel. Lychee-like hops galore with caramelly mmalt underneath. Strong late bitterness. A really good IPA!

On draft at brewery, consumed 11/19/07. Clear golden hue, one-finger head of fine white bubbles. Aroma is grapefruit, resiny hops. Strong citrus hop flavor as well, malt present but stepped on by hops. Dyacetal appears in the form of tart green apple flavor at the end, giving a crisp finish that, despite it being a flaw, I found refreshing. Sort of splits the difference between Sierra Nevada Pale Ale and Bass.
