MoritzF (3883), Ruhrpott, Germany Oct 3, 2007 (bottle) The beers of the former brewery Weinig in Gerolzhofen, Unterfranken are partly brewed by Kauzen and by Göller in Zeil. The brewing in Gerolzhofen ceased in 2001 but the tap is still open. Brewer & owner Paul Wehner told me that he wants to re-start the brewing on a small scale exclusively for his brewpub sooner or later. Cloudy, orange colour with a huge foamy white head. Dusty and sweet wheat-malty nose with strong banana-fruity esters with a light citrus-sourish touch and a soft hoppy background. Sweet flavour with faint acidic accents; wheaty and moderately yeasty, slightly grainy taste with banana and hints of citrus; light to medium bodied with a crispy mouthfeel; moderately sweet and fruity, slightly yeasty- and hop-bitter finish which is a bit slim but also pretty refreshing.
