Wow, my first rating for 2009!?! I’ve been away too long! A friend brought this back from the States for me, funky bottle. Well it’s a Pils, so of course a golden clear beer with a white head, green bottle=a bit skunky with hops. Crisp, some grainy flavor up front, nice hops, nothing special but still quite refreshing and much better than the canned Japanese Microswill that has put me off beer recently.

Draught. Clear golden colour. Very small white head. The flavour is clean with a bit of malt and dust. OK for a macro pils.

Pours out a golden yellow with a thin white head that quickly went down to just a few bubbles. My wife said it looked like a urine sample in a glass, and I had to laugh and agree. So not a looker of a beer. Aroma is corn, a few skunky hops, and a wet paper smell finish that wasn’t the best send off. At first sip the carbonation and probably too cold serving temperature just blasted my mouth. Very little flavor poked through (more evidence that 2 oz. samples are simply not enough). As the beer went on flavors began to register my sensory. Light grass at first, more corn echoes the aroma, slippery texture, slight fruity sweetness that never quite shines to it’s full potential before the hops smack it down. A dry finish. Oh yeah, and it has a curvy bottle that I guess is trendy, who cares. The beer wasn’t bad but not outstanding. Crisp, clean, but kinda bland.

bottle, bought somewhere in the Kinzig valley. Clear pale yellow, mid-sized white head. Hoppy-cardboardy nose. Light-bodied, grainy, slightly malty with hints of cardboardy hops.

33cl bottle poured into a footed pilsner. Straw with one finger white head. Aroma is metallic skunk. Flavor is the same. Hops is definitely dominant. Lightly carbonated. Crisp bitter finish.

Pale body with short head. Interesting looking bottle. Crisp hoppy taste with good carbonation. Soapy yeasty aroma . Not bad.

Picked up at Maruhn Getränke in Darmstadt. Pours a nice golden yellow. Aromas of grains, hops. Crisp hop bitterness and light finish. Love the curvy bottle.

33 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow with a white head. Dry, spiced and slight cornish aroma. Flavour is somewhat dry and a bit like cardboard. Vague caramel malt base and a mild fruity note slowly increasing for each sip - but doesn’t outtake the cardboardish base flavour. Ends dry and bitter.
