Strong coffee and chocolate aroma. Very dark brown, almost black, brown creamy head, good lace. Very full, roasted, light sweet, coffee, chocolate. Long roasted, almost bitter, coffee finish. I loved it. Very robust, maybe a bit overdone in the coffee flavors but still wonderful.

Aug 31, 2008 Cask at C’est What, July 2008. This is a beautiful black with a small, solid head, wonderful aromas: dark roasted coffee, dark fruit, raisins, dark chocolate, licorice. Mouthfeel is full. The flavour is fantastic, full of espresso, rich dark chocolate. Complex.

Aug 9, 2008 First and foremost I love imperial stouts. I was excited ti have draft imperial stout in southern ontario. This was a good beer, but I was hoping for better! I wil drink it again tho.

Jul 10, 2008 The black body of this brew is topped by a medium thick, brown head with a good amount of lacing left behind. The aroma is sweet, malty and full of caramel notes with a slight roastiness. The aroma reminds me more of a dopplebock than an imperial stout. The malt flavor is slightly sweet and roasty with notes of caramel. Full bodied and slightly dry.

Jun 24, 2008 Cask version on tap at C’est What? A black beer. Medium-thick dark beige head. Coffee and licorice aroma. This has a nice burn. It’s thinner in body than I’d prefer. Milk chocolate finish. Leaves something to be desired.

May 18, 2008 Updated: Sep 2, 2008pours black as one might expect. Had it on cask so was minimal head and made for a very smooth drink. Coffee flavour with slight bitter finish. Not quite as complex as other imperial stouts. In terms of canadian imperial stouts it is up there but john by is still the champ for me thusfar.
