Bouteille de 341 ml achetée au Beer Store (Lindsay, ONT). Arôme: Légère odeur de caramel et d’houblons. Apparence: La couleur est ambrée avec une faible densité de bulle. Présence d’un mince mousseux et d’une fine dentelle sur le verre. Saveur: Goût de céréales avec pointe de caramel et d’houblons. Durée moyenne de l’arrière goût. Palette: Le corps est moyen avec une texture légèrement aqueuse. Moyenne effervescence en bouche. Légère présence de céréales en arrière goût. (Rating #2727)

This is probably true to style, probably to a fault. Bready aroma. Pours a brownish amber with mid range head. Caramel in the flavour, slight drying bitter finish. Wellington himself probably had something similar to this, after he got on his horse, rode down to the local watering hole to escape his nagging british wife.

Bottle. Pours a clear tea-coloured amber with a vanilla head that is thick and creamy and demonstrates excellent retention. Aroma is caramel and breadcrusts. Nice caramel flavour with soft earthy hops. Creamy smooth mouthfeel. This won’t win any awards, but it is a simple tasty beer I could happily drink all night.

On tap. Caramel malts, long boil goldings, thin mouth feel, light bittter finish. Hard to tell Wellington ales apart these days. This is just short of boring. Won’t be back for more. Boring English styles are not my cup of tea.

Will this be close to the English style? Turns out to be a decent Canadian version. Pours out a nice deep amber brew with a large off white foamy cap that stays around for the entire length of the tasting. Very nice rich sweet caramel aroma with some roasted character that goes well with yummy hops. The taste is not bad, this is very drinkable but comes across light in the flavour department. Caramel, hops, that’s about it. Leaves a nice soft bitter reminder well after. Fluffy mouth feel, ample hops when warmer. An average EPA.

"Richly colored reddish copper body ¼” noisy tan cap floating on top, this be looking like a high quality brew. Aroma is smoky an I swear I’m smelling peanut I have never smelt that before in a beer. Aroma is nice and malty some sour toffee and mild hops round it out. Malty, malty flavor with a slight roast to it. Extremely mild coffee can be tasted, and a mellow hop presence witch I want to say grape fruit but I know that not correct so I’ll just call it citrus. Great bitterness with a lingering sweet after taste. There are tons of little subtle flavors coming through that are hard to describe. Great EPA!!!!!!!!

I like this. I would like it a lot more if it was hopped more. Honestly, I believe it is hard for an Ontario brewer to hop a pale ale the way it should be hopped just because of the current collective Ontario beer pallate. So I’ll give the S.P.A. some extra points for being Eastern Canadian even though (for me at least) it doesn’t stack up well against its American cousins. Nice and sessionable. As a matter of fact, I may have to head down to the pub and have a session today!

On tap at C’est What. The color is amber with a beige head. The aroma not to strong is of hops. The taste is hoppy and sweet with a bitter finish.Not to impressive.
