tsarman (794), Northern, New Jersey, USA Apr 26, 2008 I am the Bombardier. Yossarian, this is a solid beer that tastes like the changing of the guard. I had this right after the Hen’s Tooth. I was practically singing God Save the Queen! Great balance, good brew. Tasted like a bitter, or an ale with a little bit more. I enjoyed it.
turbothy (579), Nørrebronx, Denmark Jul 8, 2008 Can. Pours amber with quite a large head. Metallic bitter aroma. Less metallic flavour, not half bad. jgb9348 (1791), Arlington (Pentagon City), Virginia, USA Jul 8, 2008 Nice brownish coper coloured body with a nice-sized tan head. Aroma of caramel, malt, hops, yeast, peanuts, carrots and a bit of raisins. Medium-bodied; Strong english hops up front then fading to a nutty malt. Aftertaste shows some mild yeast, nuts and tonnes of malt - only a tiny bit of hops. Overall, a decent beer, not too much of an ESB, more of a traditional english bitter in my opinion. I sampled this 19.25 (wierd size) ounce bottle purchased from K&E Discount Beverage in New Paltz, New York on 22-June-2008, sampled on 07-July-2008. carruthm (250), USA Jul 6, 2008 V - red, little head
A - candied sugar and sweetness
T - underwhelming given the aroma, but fitting to the style.
P - bitterness, a tad mediciney. vanrassel (23), Calgary, Alberta, Canada Jun 26, 2008 Poured a mahogany with a rocky, resilient head and nice aroma of toasty malt, caramel and spicy hops. Caramel flavour and some vinous raisiny flavours balanced well with hop bitterness. The carbonation was low, but the body had some nice fullness to it. azlondon (457), Greater London, England Jun 26, 2008 Updated: Jun 27, 2008Appearance: Dark brown, good head.
