Dec 25, 2008 Bottle. Pours deepest brown/red with a thick creamy head. Lacing in rings. Aroma is malt and caramel. Flavour is malt, caramel, toasted molasses like in biscuits, Malty sweet finish. A good beer with Christmas sweets and nuts

Dec 7, 2008 Pours a dark mahogany red with a full creamy tan head. Malt greets the nose. Mouthfeel is very creamy. Tastes of dark roasted malt, chocolate, molasses and a hint of coffee. No bitterness on the finish. Pairs well with roasted nuts, red meat or the picnic food group. Overall, a delightful beer.

Dec 7, 2008 1 year aged..11.15.08 best before.... light foam, low lacing, dark brown .. smells of mop water after a caramel clean up in a dirt pool ... light choc covered pennies ... light in the mouth, as well as the chest .. muddled but kinda tasty .. thanks stu, i have a crowbar ... this aint the ronald mcmoney scene...

Nov 27, 2008 Dark brown colour with a beige head. Sweet malty aroma. The flavour is malty, sweet and caramelish. Medium to full-bodied, sweet and slightly bitter finish. Very good doppelbock.

Nov 20, 2008 Bottled. Deep intensive ruby, lovely creamy beige head. Buttery rye bread aroma, malty ans simple. Sweet rye bread malty flavor w/ liquorice, rye pudding, little dried fruits. Herbal and slightly ashy finish. Full bodied, lush mouthfilling carbonation. A good, soothing dobbelbock.

Oct 29, 2008 A well balanced tasty dark german brew. prunes/raisins, caramel, scotch and chocolate all available here. Not an every day drinker so not a favorite for me...but defenitely something delicious I will come back to.

Oct 23, 2008 Pours clear yet dark amber with infra red edges and firm wavy frothy nearly creamy tan head. Great looking brew. I can get a sense of the aroma from three feet away. Upon closer inspection I get a pleasing combination of roasted malts, some graininess and sweet caramel candy to go along with a light amount of estery sting. Good gravy, the taste is luscious. I get rich roasty malts mingling first with a moderate level of dark fruity esters and then creamy caramel. Wow. By midway I’m detecting a bit of chocolate malts, biscuit malts and mild nuttiness. This is bold yet smooth. Just delicious.
