Big bready and cookie-dough-ish nose. Chocolate, biscuit, and nuts there as well. Very pastry-like. Thin, watery body; very little carb. Sweet cookies, chocolate, brown bread, and biscuit and nuts all coming back around for the mid-palate. It’s so understated as to almost go right by you without making much of an impression, but it’s beautifully done and to be commended. Not sure how often I could drink this...I definitely prefer a bit more amplification in my beers, usually. douglas88 (1578), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA

The aroma is full of sweet fruits, malt, and some candy. The taste exhibits many qualities of a good bock; caramel and molasses sweetness, dark fruity flavors, a touch of alcohol warmth, a smooth easy mouthfeel, and a light bitter finish. Very good. Sweet, but not too sweet. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 16oz bottle. Pours a dark dark brown with an awesome long lasting frothy beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, caramel and wheat. Some hops on this but light and just to provide balance. This is a very malty beer and the assam is aptly used. THis is very much like a strong assam tea. Dark, rich, malty. This beer has strong notes of chocolate, caramel and of course bread. Its not the Celebrator but its very good nonetheless. Probably the second best doppel I’ve had. darkseduction (201), Zweibrücken, Germany
| 4.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 23, 2008 Bottle 50cl. Dark brown brew with a small head, big bubbles. Appetising fresh smell, malty , dark. Overwhelming impression first, the right relation between hops and malts, sweet and dry. Plays definetely in the Andechs Doppelbock league. punainen6 (93), Finland

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 4/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jun 13, 2008 A very malty grassy aroma - too much for me. Flavor is pretty sweet up front with a bit of chocolate. Finish is a balance between a light hop and some malts. Interesting, but not amazing. papajohn (1054), San Diego (Mira Mesa), California, USA
