Dark brown with a medium off-white head, quickly dissipating. Aroma of caramel, brown sugar and bread. Taste of caramel, fruit and mild sweet malts. Alcoholic taste from the word go that proceeds throughout and leaves a mild burn on the back end. Dry, astringent and watery, not a big fan of this one.

Wow! Looks good! Seemly dark brown body, stable, foamy beige head. Complex aroma of toffe, some chocolate and roasted grains. Rich flavour contains coffee, nuts, some spicey fruit taste, roasted malt. Smooth mouthfeel, well hidden sweety alcohol warms me up. Fine, good, please give me some more!

Poured dark red-brown, with a small white head which faded. Pungent aroma of roasted nuts and chocolate. Tasty rich flavour of coffee, nuts, chocolate and toffee accompanies a spicy hoppiness. Smooth malty bitterness in the finish. Lasting an pleasant. Palate of perfect consistency. Creamy. Excellent beer.

500 ml bottle. Deep reddish brown colour, light beige head. Strong, sweet aroma of roasted malts. Full and creamy mouthfeel. Roasted malts, dark chocolate and a little coffee in the flavour. Warm and sweet, a bit roasted aftertase. Overall, a very enjoyable beer.

500mL bottle purchased from LCBO in Grimsby. Pours a dark brown with a bit of head. Aroma is all malt and sweet. The flavour follows similarly. It’s all malt with a bit of sweetness. Seems appropriate for the style, though it’s not really my thing.

The scent is strong and balanced with sweet fruit, dark roasts, chocolate, and oat. A dark amber-brown with off-white head, long-lasting. A slight banana and sweet yeast flavor coupled with a taste that follows the nose: fruits, roasts, and slight chocolate. Complex and delicious, superbly drinkable, and also cheap. Great beer.

Pours ruby with a mostly receding tan head. Taste of caramelized wort, dark bread, toffee, malty fruits from the caramel. Full bodied with moderate carbonation. An excellent doppelbock that’s not unlike liquid bread.

Simply excellent! Dark prune-like pour with nice caramello head. Lots of sugar, roasted malts, licorice, cream, some coffee, and dark over-ripe fruits. Thickened with heavy malts leaves it chewy and delicious!.
