Bottled & poured into a stemmed glass. WKAB pours dark ruby or medium brown with a nice off-white creamy head. I don’t detect much in the nose except a touch of caramel. The body is pretty thick and pleasently coats your mouth. After the first taste your mouth waters for more. Caramel and alcohol accompany a nutty flavor making this a great beer. I’m very impressed with this beer. It is a great example of a doppelbock, one of the best.

The aroma is sweet and rich with toasted malt, toffee, and chocolate. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The flavor is like the aroma plus licorice cola. The palate is a little thin but OK. Overall it’s very good.

500ml bottle at Microbar, Clapham, 14th Jan 08. Looks great in the glass - deep ruby red. Very malty aroma but thankfully the flavour is a smooth mellow chocolate taste with a nice long finish.

The bottle looks really good. The beer in the glass also. Very malty, not too much, very balanced. After every gulp you look forward to the next one. Really good beer.

In the 0.5L bottle from Total Beverage, Denver. Pours a very dark sepia brown with a dark beige head that is fluffy and creamy. Amazing chocolate malted milk aroma. Very thick and silky palate. This has a medium roastedness and a huge chocolate flavor. Just Fantastic. I think this might even be underrated at 3.8!

Dark, rubyish color. Sweet and malty aroma, very tempting. Flavor adds roasted malt to the sweetness, near perfect balance. Wonderful, wonderful doppelbock. Leaves you with a perfect dry finish just asking for more.

This is the best Bock I’ve had outside Germany. Malty sweet but not cloying, strong with no bite - it’s a maltheads’ dream! Puts other dopples like Celebrator to shame.
