Bottle thanks to HogTownHarry. Poured with an off-tan head. Aroma was very malty with a small bit of roast. Mouthfeel was thick with caramel, malt and a sweet bitter taste. A fairly good beer. I liked it.

Good label, good bottle, clear garnet brew with a bit stiff tan head. Chalky, slightly chocolate malt aroma. Malty, chalky, chocolatey, edgy acidity, tannic, raisins. Very full bodied, perhaps a bit pasty. Finishes off sweet and grainy. Market Square Liquors.

Shared at Joebrew’s BBQ; courtesy of JK. Dark ruby color with a thin head. Aroma of walnuts and almonds. Chalky body with lots of nuts and sweet malt. Plenty of Noble hops keeps the sweetness balanced out. Very nice.

Bottle from Beers of Europe Poured brown with a lovely ruby hue and a small beige head. Aroma was off soft burnt molasses. Soft carbonation and a gently warming taste that was deliciously soft brown molasses again with a delicious toffeeiness and great maltiness also flooding through

Outstanding doppelbock. Rich malty nose with some molasses. Dark ruby with good head. Full bodied and a long lasting finish. Slightly sweet, but just enough for a real bock. A bit alcohol is evident in the end, but it is by no way overdone. Quite fruity finish.

Pour is a dark black with a tan head. Aroma is nice with a ton of sweet malt and molasses. Flavor is also on the plus side with lots of toffee and nuts. Then finishes with a very nice mellow raisin flavor. If there was such a thing as raisin juice i would compare it to this. A very tasty dopple and one to seak out.

I picked this at the suggestion of a friend at Shoreline and this dark beer seemed very tight with its flavors. It took me a while to pick up on the nuances. This was a good beer that would probably better on tap.
