Didn’t expect so much fruit. Taste is a bit less eventful. Lots of bready bisquits, malts, maple. Syrupy mouthfeel, bit of a alchohol sting. I’ll stick with Celebrator. krysztofar (344), belleville, Illinois, USA

| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 9, 2007 Bottled. 17.02.09. Beer is clear, very dark warm brown with a large, off-white, frothy, diminishing head.

Initial aroma impression is richly malty with moderate notes of toasted bread crust, caramel; Hoppy with a light-to-moderate note of lemon zest; Light notes of dried current, spicy alcohol.

The flavor is lightly sweet, moderately bitter, trace-to-lightly acidic with a long, light-to-moderately bitter, lightly sweet, lightly acidic finish.

The body is medium, the texture is watery and the carbonation is lively.

Looks magnificent in the glass. Big, big aroma of sweet malt, spices and baked fruit. Medium, smooth palate. Flavour is an explosion of earthy sweetness, with stewed spicey fruit, earthiness, caramel, smoke and enough alcohol to keep it all together. Some dryness in the aftertaste but that spicy fruit just keeps going. A real experience and definitely a cold-climate beer, but not bad on a chilly Melbourne night. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2007 Bottle. Damn this is good! Mahogany brown, almost black. Thick beige head. Some sweetish toffee aroma and metal. By far the thickest dubblebock I’ve tasted. Like oil, honey, or any other goo-y substance. Taste of bitter chocolate, with a long, sweet finish. More of this, please! Adenila (936), Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | May 19, 2007 Brown with a light brown head. Very strong aroma of sweet malts, grain and fermented apples. Flavor is sweet caramel with alchohol notes to balance it out. Again some sweet fermented notes leading to a sleightly bitter grassy finish. Very wellmade, but not my favorite style AOF (282), Naperville, Illinois, USA

A nice bock over average. Complex with the soft mouthfeel, that newcomers appreciate. Fullbodied bock and lots of notes such as alcohol, caramel, maltness, dryness, metallic, bread and more....
