elektronikfagteknikerlærling (892), kbh, Denmark Jun 3, 2006 bottle. dark brown color. very malty. sweet and round. hides the alcohol well. thewolf (5635), Kolding, Denmark Jun 3, 2006 A very beautiful mahogany colour with good brownish head that stays for a while. Aroma contains berries, nuts and chocolate. Flavours veer more towards a sweet caramelly feel with some citric notes and a limited hoppyness. Beerdedone (1873), Croydon, Pennsylvania, USA Jun 1, 2006 Bottle sampled withStegosaurus. Pours dark with a tan head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, and chocolate. Flavor is chocolate, citrus, and caramel. This beer was damn good, i was shocked. TheLeadDog (101), Kent, Washington, USA May 23, 2006 Wow another winner. Chocolate, carmel, malt. Good head that dissapates quickly. Great aftertaste with long lasting flavor. Great with a thick steak and scalloped potatoes. Not a beer I would drink every day. Only because I drink beers like this with special meals. DocLock (4648), Lower Pottsgrove, Pennsylvania, USA May 18, 2006 Thanks to Hogtown Harry for this gem. The pour was hazy deep brownish ruby with a 2-finger khaki head. The aroma was malty, with cacao, some Wheaties, brown sugar, and almonds. Flavors were very malty, cereally, with a lot of grape nuttyness, almonds, some brown sugar, and cacao. Good complexity and balance. Illini08 (528), Raleigh, North Carolina, USA May 13, 2006 Shared this bottle with Duane. Thanks to Rich as well! Just read what Duane said, as my experience with this beer was the same. It smelled amazing, but the taste didnt quite match up to the great aroma. Overall though, a very good beer! barleyPops (1079), Quad-Cities, Illinois, USA May 13, 2006 16.9 oz. bottle courtesy of RLB, thanks Rich you helped knock another one off of my want list.<!-- br -->
great looking pour to this one. dark brown with a ruby edge and a decent size khaki head. aroma was outstanding of sweet caramel, plums, raisin, hints of dark chocolate and coffee, my anticipation is high. medium to almost full bodied the flavors were more of the sweet caramel, plums, etc., and while good there was just a little strange bitterness that did not match the aroma profile. still a very good doppel and one I hope to have again. BückDich (4793), McCall, Idaho, USA May 11, 2006 Bottle: Pellucid tawny cherry brown color, thin head and light lacing. Nose of sweet malty goodness, fig, plum, fruit. The flavor is chewy, sweet, balanced, very nice doppel. On the likes of Celebrator but with a denser body and less sweetness. Tangy alcohol, good. Jesus, almost a millenium to perfect and it’s still not that great. Well, it is awesome, but not perfect or world class.
