Bottle sampled with Beerded_one. Pours dark with a decent tan head. Aroma of caramel, citrus, chocolate, and yeast. Flavor is smooth, chocolate, citrus, caramel, and some dark fruit. Good body, damn good doppelbock.

Sampled at Peoria beer festival. Poured redish-brown with a little head. There was a sweet aroma with a hint of yeast. Taste was a mix of carmel and chocolate more towards the carmel side. Aftertaste left a little to be desired

500 ml. brown bottle. Fresh before 12.21.02. Aged in my cellar for 4 years. Let’s see how it holds up. Poured out a dark reddish brown, with a thick tan colored head. Aromas are of chocolate candy-covered coffee beans, yeasty bread, rum soaked raisins. Flavors are of a chocolate malted, with lager yeast notes. Earthy hops are well subdued at this point. Thick, rich mouthfeel. Medium body, finishes slightly dry. It has aged very well, IMHO.

Bottle 500ml. Dark brown body with average carbonation, rusty glints and thick beige frothy head. Wonderful and complex malty/hoppy aroma with plummy, dark cherry, roasty and flowery notes. Rich roasted malt taste that carries woody hints, and ends with a long and robust bitter/roasty finish. I choose it for my 750th rating and did not regret it!

500 ml bottle. Dark brown beer with a thin white head. Sweet toasted malt aroma, light nuttiness and more sweet, dark malts. Flavour is sweet and chocolatey, with nuttiness and strong toasty flavour being the most apparent. Light noble hops help dry out the sweetness. Well balanced, warming and refreshing at the same time. Lingering toast and cocoa in the finish with a hint of noble hop flavour. Tasty brew.

bottled. Quite dark with brown head. Flavour is quite fulbodied and strong. Some notes of caramel and roasted malts. Finish is slightly sweet. A very pleasant and somewhat heavy brew. Good balance.

Bottle (500ml). Poured bright clear deep reddish amber with a huge foamy bubbly rocky tan lasting head. Roasty, nutty malty aroma, sweet and grainy, a bit of grape skin. Very light, pleasing flavour of roast malt, grain, vague plum or grape - smooth grainy finish, can’t taste the alcohol - nutty and easy to drink. Mouthfeel is very soft, fairly flat - nice, but not a 4 by my reckoning.
