Bottle.
Virtually opaque black, with a small beige head.
Sweetish aroma of caramel or molasses and mildly roasted malt.
Flavor features hops combined with a somewhat dryer encore of midly roasted malt. Some tangy sourness there as well. Bitter aftertaste.

This is a fantastic beer. I had heard of the brewery Weltenburger near Kelheim and managed to make it down there. From the pour the beer is deep brown with a caramel head that lasts a couple of minutes. The aroma is intense and bold with notes of caramel, chocolate, and slight notes of licorice. The flavor fills the mouth with very intense notes of chocolate, caramel, and dark bread. It stimulates every taste bud, starting at the tip and working its way to the back of the tongue and then lingers in the back of the throat transforming into a slightly bitter aftertaste. This is truly one of the best bocks in the world. . .great for those cold winter nights. . .just like tonight

Very dark and heavy. Malty, sweet and just delicious. Don’t drink it to cold!

Dark color with a fizzy head. Aroma dominated by the malt, caramel and light liquorice. The body is round, with enough malt; a lot of caramel, some chocolate; ending a bit metallic and dryer on the tongue. Ordinary.

Bottle. Dark red-brown with creamy beige head. Malt, caramel, sirup, chocolate, ice-coffee, with all the candy flavors in there it still manages balance. Full bodied and deliscious. My kind of doppelbock.

Bottle 0,5l. Dark red. A tanned head lasting a few minutes. Malty and fruity. The aftertaste is varied leaving a dry, roasted impression. A nice winter warmer.
