Dalle (1146), Skørping, Denmark Feb 19, 2006 Bottle. Dark red-brown with creamy beige head. Malt, caramel, sirup, chocolate, ice-coffee, with all the candy flavors in there it still manages balance. Full bodied and deliscious. My kind of doppelbock. joergen (8429), Frederiksberg, Denmark Feb 16, 2006 Bottle.
Clear red coloured with a beige head.
Aroma of malts, bread, caramel and alcohol.
Sweet flavour of malts, bread and caramel with metallic notes. Finn (1422), Tromsø, Norway Feb 14, 2006 Bottle 0,5l. Dark red. A tanned head lasting a few minutes. Malty and fruity. The aftertaste is varied leaving a dry, roasted impression. A nice winter warmer. gilvanblight (390), Windsor, Ontario, Canada Feb 1, 2006 Very dark red brown almost black pour. Thick bubly tan head. Malt and fruit in the nose. Very malty, slightly bitter on the tongue. Warm feeling in the back of the throat. Some chocolate in the taste as well. Very low carbonation. Caught some smoky taste right at the end. yngwie (4880), Kristiansand, Norway Jan 30, 2006 Bottled. Clear, dark brown with reddish notes. Nice tan head. Mild aromas of coffee, chokolate, dried fruits, licorice and roastiness. Maybe some beef stock too. Wonderful sweet malty flavor with the aroma-elements, alcohol and hops. Full, sweet body with a pleasant fizzyness. Long sweet, lightly hoppy finish. Surely a warming beer, but the aromas could be a bit more pronounced. Pity it costs 5.5€ here in Norway, but I was lucky and got it in a trade with MiP. (060130) Skinnyviking (4142), Copenhagen, Denmark Jan 24, 2006 Bottle. Brown short head. Beautiful dark red obdy. Spicy malt raisin aroma. Roasted coffe flavor nicely rounded with hops bitterness. mjg74 (1995), La Mesa, California, USA Jan 14, 2006 Bottled. Pours a super deep ruby color. Aroma is sweet. Like chocolate and raspberries. Some roasted coffee as well. Flavor is rich with chocolate and roasted coffee. Some sweet berries and a lingering burnt malty finish. Great brew. I would love to have a case of this stuff. Strykzone (1458), Wood River, Illinois, USA Jan 6, 2006 This is such a good beer! Dark brown with some red tones to it, a bit like cola. Delightful aroma with lots of sweet malts. Some raisen is evident and maybe a hint of cherries deep down. Flavor is also of malt and is rich and delicious. Sorry I only bought a single pint. It was thoroughly enjoyed.
