I have had this before when it was coming into NJ relatively fresh a few years ago (by the cas!). Now I wonder if this is even being imported to the US at all! Anyway, Clear ruby brown, nice tan head. Slightly cardboard sherried malt aroma. Mig lucious malts present here, and the mouth feel is second to none. I noted protein rings on tho bottom of the bottle, so this brew may be 2 years old or more. Still excellent, but fresh is always best for this brew. ecbeerguy (86), East Chicago, Indiana, USA
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Apr 11, 2005 Big head, which slowly dissipates. A strong, " full " aroma. There’s not much room for anything else. Chocolate, toffee, caramel, and alcohol, all are abundant. The taste is very sweet, but with a dry finish. MoritzF (4926), Bochum, Germany

Dark brown colour with almost fizzy beige head. Roasted malts aroma with toffee and dark chocolate. A very fine dolce smoked maltiness, very smooth, almost silky with a long mocha-like dry & bitter aftertaste. This one is far away from being too sweet or alcoholic. Perfectly balanced for my kind of taste. A rather slim and that´s why perfect Doppelbock for me. The name is referring to the Bavarian architect and painter Cosmas Damian Asam (1686-1739), a master of the Rococco (late Baroque style). oh6gdx (8838), Vasa, Finland

| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 2/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 22, 2005 Bloodlike, burgandy dark red, with only a cola-like fizz on top. Nice color, dissapointing head, but hey, it’s a lager.
Roasted grain, and caramel nose.
Taste: Caramel, toffee, with a little faint chocolate bitterness. Low carbonation and somewhat chewy. Decent body. footbalm (1218), Salt Lake City, Utah, USA
