Shared at Joebrew’s BBQ; courtesy of JK. Dark ruby color with a thin head. Aroma of walnuts and almonds. Chalky body with lots of nuts and sweet malt. Plenty of Noble hops keeps the sweetness balanced out. Very nice.

Tap @ Spuyten Duyvil. Up against Andechser Doppelbock dunkel, this one is actually quite a bit darker (it is a nice deep mahagony amber/clear and nice head) and is thicker, and sweeter. Aroma is sweet candied fruits, molasses, tons of dark munich malts, bready, and smooth as hell. Fully body and mouthfell with a sweet finish, but definitely not cloying. Great doppelbock.

500ml bottle. Very dark red - light coffee-coloured head. Ever so sickly-sweet malt aroma, like all good bocks have. However, nothing can prepare you for the wonderful full combination of flavours which will explode in your mouth on the first sip. On top of dark dark hops and malt, but not too burnt, there’s a zingy sweet flouriness, and some pleasant hints of consomme. Excellent doppelbock, one of the best.

Beautiful deep colour, almost like a stout, and a rich bronze head. You wouldn’t know it was 7.2% if it wasn’t on the bottle. This is a great doppelbock which I’d recommend to anyone!

Bottle from Beers of Europe Poured brown with a lovely ruby hue and a small beige head. Aroma was off soft burnt molasses. Soft carbonation and a gently warming taste that was deliciously soft brown molasses again with a delicious toffeeiness and great maltiness also flooding through

Bottle. Clear brownish colour with a huge mostly lasting creamy off white head. Rich aroma and taste of malts, fruits and brown sugar. NIce palate.
