Medium coarse shiny beige head disappears quickly. Deek dark red barely translucent body. Deep sweet earthy malty aroma with minty licorice and roasty chocolate notes. Harmonic and balanced. Taste is deep, sweet roasty malts with earthy licorice notes and some cinnamon. Dry roasty malty aftertaste with minty notes. Light-bodied, full-flavoured, balanced and harmonic. Delicate and powerful. An excellent doppelbock. (0.5l bottle.)

In the 0.5L bottle from Total Beverage, Denver. Pours a very dark sepia brown with a dark beige head that is fluffy and creamy. Amazing chocolate malted milk aroma. Very thick and silky palate. This has a medium roastedness and a huge chocolate flavor. Just Fantastic. I think this might even be underrated at 3.8!

Chris_O was good enough to carry this all of the across the Atlantic and I appreciate that very much. This was a very good, full bodied bock, but barely a double at a mere 6.9 abv. It pours a bit thicker than most of the style. Very dark brown, looks as good as a bock can look, I have never seen a red tint on a bock before. Great full palate on this beer. There is lots of roasted malt, some light smoke, and caramel. The full palate and excellent flavor put this in the class as Celebrator.

Bottle. Mahogony beer with a nice beige head. Earthy, malty aroma. Big rich carmalized malt flavor with some backing earth and spice. Lingering caramel. Medium body. Well balanced.

Great aroma of fruits (dark fruits I guess), olives and malt. Awesome flavor of dark fruits, olives and very assertive malts. This beer is so rich and malty that it reminds me of some baltic porters, Pardubicky and Okocim come to mind.

Aroma of roasted malts, licorice and a hint of vegetabled or herbs, which gives the aroma an unique character. Quite well-balanced. Clear, dark-brown coloured with a lasting brown head. Unfortunately the creamy head doesn’t remain as big as the head of the hefe weizen dunkel I drank before. Taste is of well-balanced roasted malts and licorice/coffee. Perhaps some berry-like fruits in it. Bit sticky, but smooth mouthfeel.
