Bottle: Sweet aroma. Caramel, toffee, honey, and fruit. Pours a dark semi-transparent brown with red hilights. Sweet caramel with a slight roasty nuttiness in the finish. There is a metallic taste in the finish that really hurts this beer.

Thanks HogTownHarry. Well here it is... the beer that puts me at the #3 rater spot in Wisconsin. The bottle has the gayest looking label ever. The beer pours to a dark brown body with a red hue. A creamy looking grayish tan head sits atop. The aroma comes off as water chestnuts and some soy sauce. Baby corn. The flavor is sweet dark malts, water chestnuts, light chocolate chips. The palate is moderate at best. I had higher hopes for this brew. Ah well.

Rich malty aroma. Chocolate and raisins, molasses and brown sugar. Herbal-like essences infused in caramelized sugars. Mild floral hops. I love the memories from doppelbock smells. Dark brown-black clear, with foamy off-white (almost tan) lacing head. Heavy watery body with medium carbonation. Starts with great molasses worty goodness. Sweet in all the right places with brown sugar and caramelized flavors. Mild herbal essences and candied oranges. Finish is pretty clean with some balancing dryness. Not bitter at all. Sweet nutty after with just a hint of smokiness.

A very malty grassy aroma - too much for me. Flavor is pretty sweet up front with a bit of chocolate. Finish is a balance between a light hop and some malts. Interesting, but not amazing.

A meaty dark bock with a lot of class. Syrup and molasses in the nose at taste. Starts sweet and ends with a slight dry, gritty finish. Some spices (nutmeg) in the middle. A full taste that kept getting better through the glass. Clean palate and an impeccable balance.

Dark brown colour with flashes of ruby and a thick beige head. Aroma of earthy malt with toffee and chocolate. The same notes come through in the flavour (+ a bit of coffee as well), with a strong, sweet start and a smooth, mildly bitter finish. Wonderful stuff!

500 ml bottle, Stateline Liquors. Pours a clear dark mahogany brown under a firm foamy light brown head that left some nice lacing as it receeded. Nose is heavy thick malt with some light fruity banana notes. Light toffee, alcohol, and vanilla. Flavor is slightly sweet and a little grainy with some light coffee, banana, alcohol, roast, and maple syrup. Mouthfeel is full bodied and pretty creamy in texture up front fading to a slightly sweet and cloying finish. Overall, this was a fine Doppelbock. I liked that it wasn’t overly sweet and very little alcohol apparency.

16.9oz bottle. Pours a dark cola brown; fluffy, light tan head with good retention and lacing. Chewy nougat and caramel and dried fruit in the aroma. Medium-to-full, chewy mouthfeel: nougat and caramel upfront; lively carbonation; creamy, vanilla and wet malt core; hints of a mild citrus and floral bitterness. Medium, nougat and roasted malt finish.
