Clear copper brown color with a tan head. Nice malty sweet bready, earthy molasses aromas. Medium body. Earthy sweet fruity, molasses flavors with hearty pumpernickel bread. nice

Bottle from Beers Of Europe. Dark brown, with a small cream head. Nice strong, sweet, malt flavour, with rye bread and some salt. Burnt sugar finish which is nice also. Easy drinking, but weighty in the flavour dept, which is a good combo.

Sable with a light tan head. Pungent nose of molasses and dark brown sugar. Flavor is just as strong, bready, molasses and more brown sugar. Hints of smokiness. Finish is mild, light bitter. Solid Doppel.

Bottle bought in Germany. 500ml in a snifter/stem hybrid. Malty and strong, chocolate, fruit and wonderful aftertaste. So smooth, rich and thick. Lovely.

Clear but densely colored, caramel/red with a huge, spongy tan head with effervescence rising in streams. Insanely sweet-malted aroma was caramel, candy bar & chocolate with slight mustiness. Flavor was sweet and astringent, the alcohol being overdone. It was like sipping a thin whisky, whereas I would have preferred tasting the thick malts that I perceived in the aroma. Finish is earthen with an alcohol gut-burn. This beer starts well, ends disappointingly.

The bottle looks really good. The beer in the glass also. Very malty, not too much, very balanced. After every gulp you look forward to the next one. Really good beer.
