Bottle. Nice dark brown colour with a medium fairly lasting off-white head. Sweet malty caramellic aroma. Flavour of well toasted malt, caramel, bit fruity, slight chocolate. Sweetish toasty finish. Nice brew.

Buttery roasted malt aroma. Full bodied, almost fat. Laurel and roasted malt in the flavor. Very malty, sweet, but enough other flavors to compensate. Lovely bock beer with enough finesse and complexity for added quality. The rating is well earned.

Bottle. Dark brown colour with a big baige head. Sweet metallic roasted malty aroma and a sweet chocolate malty taste. Medium to full body and a sweet finish. A bit to sweet.

A Mes rate: bottle from the Bottle Stop in Bramhall.
What an unexpected cracker this is. Almost black brown with a thick and creamy beige head that lasts well. A ton of caramel and rich German malts on the nose with some slight hay and almost barnyardy funk plus a lovely delicate hint of wood smoke. The flavour follows on beautifully with slight dark chocolate notes giving a subtle bitterness that balances things out superbly. Glorious finish full of chewy malt and a slight nod toward the alcohol content leaving a lingering sweet smoky aftertaste. Very good stuff indeed.

A very beautiful mahogany colour with good brownish head that stays for a while. Aroma contains berries, nuts and chocolate. Flavours veer more towards a sweet caramelly feel with some citric notes and a limited hoppyness.

Took on parallel with Celebrator. Aroma of the weltenburger is pretty much owned by celebrator’s. Lighter than expected, but still doppelbock-ish, corpulent malt with notes of ashes and smoke. On the appearance side, it’s brown with ruby reflects and pretty much comparable to Ayinger’s. In mouth, we’re dealing with vinous chocolate and vanilla. It’s the malt fest, beware! Very sweet, but restrained by underexpressed smoke. Medium-full body. Very good, but my malt-head was expecting more and this was definitely not up to celebrator in my book, it could only dream of approaching ayinger’s labyrinth of scents.
Almost a year later. This bottle furnished far smaller head, not keeping up despite a straight pour. The aroma was expressively malty once again. Lots of nutty and pear nuances. Bold earthiness manages to contain the lips-sticking moderately thick palate by a hair. Peaty finish, woody, quite rich, but I don’t seem to enjoy that as much as I used to.. From 4.0 to 3.8

This beer rocks. I tasted this beer at a party. Nothing kills a group buzz like a guy scribbling in a notebook. Rely on my score and the descriptions provided by other Ratebeerians.
