Poured brown with a tall creamy off-white head that had a thin layer lasting and good lace. Aromas of wheat, cereal, toasted malts, and a light fruit background. Awesome fruit and malt mix in the flavor. Medium to full body, creamy smooth, sweet throughout. A very nice Bock. glkaiser (1171), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 22, 2007 Dark, cherry red brown with big light brown head. Heavy, sweet malt aroma. Nutty sweetness in the taste. Medium bitterness. Light maple syrup and dark fruit. Can taste the alcohol, but not too much. Smooth. Perfect for a fall day. Tranquillity (1167), Espoo, Finland
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | May 25, 2007 Bottle. Damn this is good! Mahogany brown, almost black. Thick beige head. Some sweetish toffee aroma and metal. By far the thickest dubblebock I’ve tasted. Like oil, honey, or any other goo-y substance. Taste of bitter chocolate, with a long, sweet finish. More of this, please! carruthm (1162), Seattle, Washington, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2009 Somewhat sweet for a bock, still a very good tasting with the aforementioned sugars and a touch of porter coffee smokiness. IMtheOptimator (1161), Bethel, Connecticut, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jan 24, 2005 Poured a dark brown with reddish hues with a large light tan head that left a lacing on the glass. Aroma is what I would expect from a good doppelbock: sweet grapes and raisins. Flavor has a prominent vinuous character and a strong malt sweetness, with a mild hop kick for balance and a very sublte dryness in the finish. Body is thinner than I expected. Overall a great doppelbock. porterhouse (1159), Alna, Maine, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 4, 2005 (500 ml bottle from http://hitimewine.com, marked "08.01.02 L") Body is cola-colored, head is light tan. Nose is prunes, raisins, brown sugar, malt. Some lacing. Mouthfeel smooth, a little dry. Flavor: seems fairly bitter at first, then brown sugar sweetness starts to kick in about halfway into bottle. Not quite as wonderfully complex as some of the other doppels I’ve had IMHO, but still certainly very good. Alcohol very well hidden also. OKBeer (1159), Halifax, Nova Scotia, Canada
