Wasn't as soy saucy and sweet as i thought it might be. Still on the sweet side (brown sugar, mollasses) and with a touch of soy, but it had some nice chocolatey, caramelly flavours, with a slight dry-ish finish, easy to get into, but still not a style that totally convinces me.

(Bottle) Pours a dark brown body with a medium tan head. Aroma of malt, toffee, and raisins. Malty base flavor with some molasses. Enjoyable session beer.

courtesy of fiulijn - very dark brown colour and a little brown-tainted head; a bit toaszy, solid cookie maltiness, woody notes; sweet and full-bodied, long malty, biscuity finish with some residual sweetness

Dark brown colour with nice light brown head. Aroma is sweet with some roasted malts. Flavor has some caramel and chocolate notes. Palate is almost syrup like. All in all a very nice doppelbock.

Brown coloured. Very nice classic Doppelbock aroma. The flavour is also very classic. Lots of dark and sweet malts. Notes of marzipan in the aroma. The aftertaste is slightly short.

Luscious chocolatey berries slide in to titillate the earth-laden ashes...Domestic, dry bitterness, scattered in the back, tickles the portly caramel candy sweetness...A delightful moment harvesting the pleasures of our Mother Earth...

Bottle Dark amber coloured with reddish tints, thin but long lasting beige head; complex aroma: molasses (or liquorice ?) and roasted malts, dried fruit, a bit vinous, too; slightly sweetish flavour, becoming dryer towards the bitter (chocolatey)-malty finish; creamy mouthfeel, quite full bodied :-), but avoids becoming really sweet. Well quaffable, but too much molasses...............

500 ml bottle. Dark brown beer with a thin white head. Sweet toasted malt aroma, light nuttiness and more sweet, dark malts. Flavour is sweet and chocolatey, with nuttiness and strong toasty flavour being the most apparent. Light noble hops help dry out the sweetness. Well balanced, warming and refreshing at the same time. Lingering toast and cocoa in the finish with a hint of noble hop flavour. Tasty brew.
