Poured from the bottle into a pint glass to drink. The beer had a somewhat clear dark amber-brown color with a creamy-foamy light tan head, which had moderate retention and cling. The beer had rich caramel malt aromas with floral and fruit aromas, some raisin and a bit of earthy hops. The beer had a sweet fruity taste with a bit of grainy bitterness to complement it. It was slightly creamy with average to light carbonation and a wet body with a good, clingy mouthfeel. A high quality beer, very much enjoyed.

500ml Bottle: Sweet mother this surprised me, it’s amazing. Pours a deep brown with red hues around the edges, with a taupe head that sadly disappeared too quickly. Aroma of molasses and brown sugar with roasted malts, perfection. Flavour put a smile on my face immediately, an instant classic. Caramel sweetness offset with roasted malts and chocolate, it’s the perfect blend for a bock. Beautiful aftertaste. I can’t praise this one enough, you need to try it.

500 ml bottle - pours a dark chestnut hue with slight reddishness at the edges and a thick, creamy two-finger head that laces the glass elegantly. Fresh dark rye bread aroma, along with lots of sweet malt, molasses. Very full-bodied and rich, lots of complexity - dark rye, bready yeastiness, some very slight fruitiness, hazelnut, capped off with a bitter finish. Not my favourite style of beer, but I can appreciate the quality here.

Much too sweet, malty and citrusy for my taste. As a dark bock it truly fits the mold. Extra strong and powerful brew with a robust finish. The caramel aroma is potent. Alcohol is definelty well hidden. Lots of complex esters working overtime and an excellent winter brew. Too bad I am drinking it in the 90 degree heat!

Bottle. Pours dark brown with a quickly disappearing head. There’s a small line of lacing along the rim of the glass. I smell toffee, grape bubblegum, pumpernickel bread with an earthiness and something like rootbeer. Mouthfeel is medium light. I taste wood, burnt nuts, prune, toffee more grape and sugar. There is a bitterness that lingers in the finish.

Brownish pour with ever so slight red hints. Malty sweet aroma. Smooth mild malty flavors with a nutty touch. A tad bit thin on the palate, but it gives you the ability to whack back a few of 'em. Sweet finish. Pleasant and a good price, at least around here in NE Ohio.

Very nice... Pours an incredibly dark red/black with a decent head that left minimal lacing. Scent is strong of coffee and malt. Taste is coffee/toffee and dark fruits. Palate has a nice mineral feel to it. It’s thick without being very carbonated. Overall it’s rather nice and offers a nice challange to Celebrator/Salvatore, and worth giving a try.
