Sweetly darkish beer. Kinda clings like marmite. Fills the mouth with flavour, but in a coating manner that I found greasy and slightly not quite pleasant. Mostly enjoyable, but it didn't hit my zing.

Sampled at joebrew’s Sunday BBQ, thanks to JK for sharing. Pours a hazy dark reddish brown brew with a thin off-white head that quickly dissolves. Aroma of sweet caramel malt, light chocolate, some roasted nuts and a touch of chalk. Taste is medium bodied, lightly carbonated with flavors of raisins, caramel malt, roasted walnuts and some chocolate. Finish is semi-sweet with a slight raisin aftertaste.

Bottled, BB 3/18/09. Poured clear, brilliant reddish-tea with a short-ish cap of beige head. The aroma picked up toasted caramel, nutty notes, and chocolate.. dry with a fresh herbal accent.. lovely! The flavor had a toasty impression with sweeter bread, aged caramel, and cola.. the back-end had brighter grassy and herbal bitterness that carried through the dry finish. The body was a bit lighter than expected and could’ve used more heft across the middle.. otherwise very well balanced with a memorable, dry finish. I could drink a whole lot of this.

Poured a clear golden chestnut color with a small off-white head. The aroma was malty with caramel and fruity notes. Hint of smoke and light chocolate. Malty caramel flavor with some sweetness.

Alcohol wasn’t posted and didn’t taste it. Light and sweet, perhaps even sugary. Tops in mouthfeel because of lightness and easy to drink. Was not complex which I didn’t find a plus yet would make it popular. Malt toffee nutty cinammon apple all restrained

Bottle (500ml). Poured bright clear deep reddish amber with a huge foamy bubbly rocky tan lasting head. Roasty, nutty malty aroma, sweet and grainy, a bit of grape skin. Very light, pleasing flavour of roast malt, grain, vague plum or grape - smooth grainy finish, can’t taste the alcohol - nutty and easy to drink. Mouthfeel is very soft, fairly flat - nice, but not a 4 by my reckoning.

Bottle 500 ml
Appearance: Dark brown with ruby light trough, medium large brownish (quiet creamy) head.4-
Nose : Sweet brown malts showing up first , cocoa milk chocolate is next , nutty caramel molasses finishing.7+
Flavor/Palate : Solid nutty , woody bark like feel laid on malty blanket. Nutty , roasty character is quiet apparent. Texture it self if medium-full with chewy tendencies. Baltic porter like but with out extensive roastiness with dark side of imperial stout. Alcohol shown only as bottom filler. Solid brew form Kalheim.
