ve had lately. Dawghouse Brewers99 (91), Exeter, California, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Feb 10, 2007 500 ml bottle. Deep ruby red clear colour. Medium-sized beige fine-laced head with some larger bubbles. Strong distinct rich malty aroma. Toffee and raspberry notes. Hints of chocolate and raisins. Prickly sensation on the tongue. Licorice flavours balanced by smooth hop bitterness and ammonia. Very rich and smooth. Full-bodied, but far from cloying in any way. The soft hop bitterness hides much of the malty sweetness. Very drinkable. A delicious beer. mrkimchee (1414), Toronto, Ontario, Canada
