An impressive albeit temporary head forms. A fleshy beer with a sweetness that perhaps could be restrained somewhat. Complex and enchanting. smith4498 (921), Miami, Florida, USA

Flavor is caramel, brown sugar, coffee, roasted malts and slight hops in the finish. Medium to full body with minimal carbonation and a creamy mouthfeel. Very smooth and delicious. I would have this again. phishpond417 (1953), Madison, Wisconsin, USA

For some it may..but i would say the last 10 German dopples i’ve had have been weak and some have been a little metallicy- but this one was super tastey. Dark brownish black but somewhat translucent colour with a big tan head. Biscuity malt notes, caramel, toast and a hint of nutmeg flavour. Taste reminds me of a charleston chew. Aroma is malty and rich and very pleasent. weaselkenievil (738), Cheshire, England

I’ve had one of those runs of beers where I thought sod trying something new, lets go back to the old favourites, then this little belter came along. Dark brown with a hint of red with a creamy beige head. Dark fruit cake with a roasted kiss. Very nice indeed and will certainly have again. masto (77), Helsinki, Finland

Very malty, balanced and complex flavor with brown sugar, coffee, cocoa and a bit of dried fruit. Awesome soft, full mouthfeel. Would be great if it wasn’t so sweet. kiefdog (1637), Tampa, Florida, USA

Pours a clear dark brown-reddish color with a thick and foamy tan head that settles quickly but still laces the glass. Aroma is sweet malt, milk chocolate, banana, some hints of honey, caramel and malted milk. Flavor is pretty much the same -- lots of sweet malt, chocolate, maybe some hints of toffee, caramel and ripe fruit. Generally medium body with a sweet and slightly hoppy finish. mcdav2154 (297), Germany

Smell is of raisins, malt, light chocolate, and burnt sugar. Taste was really good with a big malt flavor and only a light bitter chocolate bite at the end that only last for a moment. Very enjoyable doppelbock. Bov (5508), Bienne, Switzerland
