courtesy of fiulijn - very dark brown colour and a little brown-tainted head; a bit toaszy, solid cookie maltiness, woody notes; sweet and full-bodied, long malty, biscuity finish with some residual sweetness

Pours a dark brown color with a quickly disappearing tan head. Sweet aroma, lots of caramel and bready. Again, sweet caramel dominates the body, bready, tasty. Even with all that sweetness, definitely easy to drink. Top notch.

A meaty dark bock with a lot of class. Syrup and molasses in the nose at taste. Starts sweet and ends with a slight dry, gritty finish. Some spices (nutmeg) in the middle. A full taste that kept getting better through the glass. Clean palate and an impeccable balance.

Had this again recently and I wasn’t as impressed - it’s still great though. The maltiness is the main attraction of this brew but I found it to be a little salty this time around.

Brown coloured. Very nice classic Doppelbock aroma. The flavour is also very classic. Lots of dark and sweet malts. Notes of marzipan in the aroma. The aftertaste is slightly short.

bottled. Quite dark with brown head. Flavour is quite fulbodied and strong. Some notes of caramel and roasted malts. Finish is slightly sweet. A very pleasant and somewhat heavy brew. Good balance.

500 ml bottle: poured dark brown with a medium sized tan head. Rich aroma of caramel malt, dark fruit, a touch of chocolate. Flavor is full with lots of roasted malt, caramel, some hops, and chocolate. A bit of sweetness initially followed up by a moderately dry finish. Good.

Bottle. Very dark brown body under a thin white head. Big aroma - strong raisin, toffee, tootsie roll, and berry. Similar dark raisin fruitiness in the flavor. Prune, raisin and chocolate cookie up front with some light dandelion hopping in back. Slightly thick mouthfeel w/ low carbonation. I really like this doppelbock’s fruitiness.
