Flavor adds roasted malt to the sweetness, near perfect balance. Wonderful, wonderful doppelbock. Leaves you with a perfect dry finish just asking for more. Very malty aroma, with a hint of sweetness. Perfectly roasty notes, peat, brown sugar and chocolate. The mouth feel is perfectly creamy and has an amazing texture, a perfect palate. Amazing flavor of roasted malt, dark & subtle sweetness, chewy nuttiness, rich quality chocolate, hearty bready notes, and a perfectly balancing, roasted, smooth coffeeish dryness in the finish. This is a perfectly crafted beer which is perfectly balanced. If I were to rate strictly by style this would be a five! Driftwood6 (214), USA

Can come off as a touch sweet, but the dopplebock style was originally meant as a replacement for food so I don’t mind a little sweetness. Tastes amazingly fresh out of the bottle-- that is what blew me away. They tasted so much like draft, that I effortlessly put down three bottles with dinner. To my palate, it definitely ranks in the elite class with the Celebrators of the dopplebock world. darkseduction (205), Zweibrücken, Germany

Appetising fresh smell, malty , dark. Overwhelming impression first, the right relation between hops and malts, sweet and dry. Plays definetely in the Andechs Doppelbock league. darkguardian (506), Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 28, 2008 16oz bottle. Pours a dark dark brown with an awesome long lasting frothy beige head. Nose is dark chocolate, caramel and wheat. Some hops on this but light and just to provide balance. This is a very malty beer and the assam is aptly used. THis is very much like a strong assam tea. Dark, rich, malty. This beer has strong notes of chocolate, caramel and of course bread. Its not the Celebrator but its very good nonetheless. Probably the second best doppel I’ve had. bermod (119), Jyväskylä, Finland

| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | May 1, 2008 The scent is strong and balanced with sweet fruit, dark roasts, chocolate, and oat. A dark amber-brown with off-white head, long-lasting. A slight banana and sweet yeast flavor coupled with a taste that follows the nose: fruits, roasts, and slight chocolate. Complex and delicious, superbly drinkable, and also cheap. Great beer.

Complex aroma of toffe, some chocolate and roasted grains. Rich flavour contains coffee, nuts, some spicey fruit taste, roasted malt. Smooth mouthfeel, well hidden sweety alcohol warms me up. Fine, good, please give me some more!
