Oktoberfestöl! Bottle 10 C, 2009-09-06 AP: Pilsner coloured body, big bubbles in the foam the gives a nice apperance. AR: pilsner, my friend Tidde insists that there is some fruitiness there! F: watery pilsner, this one was not so funny AF: see above Ps. the label was nice...

It poured a clear dark golden liquid with a very small foam. It had a weak smell of white bread. The taste was also weak and had some white bread. It wasn’t very smooth and had a stingy bitterness to it. Overall boring and not very good.

0.5 L bottle from Systembolaget, Charlottenberg. Big bluffy offwhite head. Deep gold colored body with brilliant clarity. Aroma of freshly baked bread. Some doughy malts, faint caramel and a pleasant whiff of grassy hops. Taste is malty, well rounded and soft. A light sweetness, some caramel and fruit tones, and fine, slight peppery bitterness to balance. Healthy body. Smooth. Rounded malty finish, evenly balanced with a gentle hop bitterness. A flawless festbier!

(Bottle) Pours clear medium amber with foamy white head. The aroma holds tones of grainy cookies, fresh “sweaty” wood and buttery toffee up front. Undertones of dark bread, spices and ripe red apples. Hints of dough. Subtle hops lurking in the background. Maybe a touch of citrus. The flavour is light to medium sweet, light to medium bitter and light acidic with clear notes of toffee and cookies. Hints of spices, dark bread and flowers. The mouthfeel is clean, chewy and round with a medium carbonation. Hints of citrus and wood in the finish. Medium bodied. The loveable malt profile + the fresh acidic note makes this beer a perfect treat.

0.5 l bottle from Systembolaget. Golden to copper color with creamy head. Malty, honeyish and toffeish aroma. The flavor is very much the same. Good fresh maltiness, that’s all.

50 cL bottle. Pours clear and golden yellow to orange with a diminshed white head. Aroma is mild citric and towards cornish. Light breadish and cornish with a light bitterness and lingering malty finish. Smooth and easy but a bit simple too.

Big offwhite lasting head. Coppery body. Earthy pea aroma with oily notes. Dry-sweetish taste of straw, earth, peas, and grain with oily grassy notes. Very harmonic. Smooth, faintly oily mouthfeel. Fullish body. Clean palate. Dry grassy strawy earthy aftertaste. Extremely drinkable, yet interesting and full of flavour. Very nice. (0.5l bottle, Systembolaget, Charlottenberg.)
